In1933,sixteenyearsafterOurLadysapparitionsatFatima,
thefuturePopeVen.PiusXII,thenCardinalEugenioPacelli,
SecretaryofStatetoPopePiusXI,madepropheticremarksin
confidencetohisfriendCountEnricoPietroGaleazzi.Cardinal
PacellistatedthatOurLadyofFatimasconfidencestoSr.
Luciawereawarningagainstthesuicideofdestructionofthe
liturgyandotherdangersofalteringtheFaith.Pacellimade
similarpropheticwarningsinasubsequentconversationwitha
fellowcurialcardinal.

WhilethesePacellianremarkshaveappearedintruncated

AllhumanheresieswhichalterthewordofGodaresothatagreaterlightmight
appear.

TheseunderdevelopedpeopleswillsavetheChurch,Eminence.Adaywillcome
whenthecivilizedworldwilldenyitsGod,whentheChurchwilldoubtasPeter
doubted.ShewillbetemptedtobelievethatmanhasbecomeGod,thatHisSonis
onlyasymbol,aphilosophylikesomanyothers.Andinchurches,Christianswill
searchfortheredlampwhereJesusawaitsthem,likethesinfulwomancryingout
beforetheemptytomb:WherehavetheytakenHim?

Then,priestswillriseupfromAfrica,fromAsia,fromAmerica,formedherein
thisseminaryoftheMissions,whowillsayandwhowillproclaimthatthebread
oflifeisnotordinarybread,thatthemotheroftheGodmanisnotamotherlike
others.AndtheywillbecuttopiecestotestifythatChristianityisnotareligion
likeothers,sinceherheadistheSonofGod,andtheChurchisHisChurch.

CardinalPacellisProphesiesComingTrueToday:

CardinalPacellisremarksarestunningprophesiesofthecurrentstateofaffairsin
theChurch,84yearslater.Wearewitnessingtodaythat:

Russiaspreadshererrorsofcommunismandsecularizationthroughoutthe
worldasOurLadyofFatimawarned.ThishappensevenintheChurchthrough
doctrinal,moral,andliturgicalrelativismandsecularization.Thesmokeof
Satanhasenteredthesanctuary.
TheimpositionofPaulVIsNewMassafterVaticanIIhasbroughtabout
widespreaddestructionoftheChurchssacredliturgyandbeautyinchurch
architecture.Thereiswidespreadgraveliturgicalirreverence,sometimeseven
causingthesacraments,includingtheEucharist,tobeinvalidfromcertain
priestsusingthenewrites.
ThereismassapostasyintheChurchandherbishopsShewilldoubtasPeter
doubted.
ShedoubtsexclusivityofsalvationthroughtheCatholicChurchandthe
socialkingshipofChrist.Thisisevidencedbyharmfulambiguities,
compromiseformulas,andomissionsintheverytextsofVaticanII
(ex.NostraAetate,LumenGentium,andDignitatisHumanae).Shedoubts
thatallpeoplesandnationsmustbecomesubjecttoChristsruleoroughtto
converttotheCatholicfaith,andfavorsseculargovernmentsandpractices.

Scandalouspracticesofecumenismhaveledtoavirtualabandonmentofthe
DivineCommissioninfavorofavacuous,openendeddialogue.
ShedoubtseventheuniversalvalidityoftheDivineLawasseeninthe
doublesynodonthefamilyandPopeFrancisjustificationsforadulteryand
ofafalsenotionofconscienceinAmorisLaetitia.Numerousbishops
conferencesareopenlyviolatingtheDivinelawbyallowingthedivorcedand
civillyremarriedpersonslivingmoreuxoriotoreceiveHolyCommunion.
ShedoubtstheeternityandrealityofHell,bydevotingherenergiesto
progressiveterrestrialutopiasundertheguiseofenvironmentalism,one
worldgovernment,massimmigration,andwealthredistribution,ratherthan
tothesalvationofsouls.
TheChurchinAfricaflourishesandholdsfasttotheCatholicFaith,especially
onsexualethics,whiletheWesternCatholicChurchislosingthefaithanddying
out.
FaithfulCatholicssufferatthehandsoffellowCatholics(whitemartyrdom)and
nonCatholics(sometimesredmartyrdom)becausetheyrefusetogiveintothe
prevailingmoralrelativismandreligioussyncretism.

ImplicationsforFatima

CardinalPacelliswordsaboutFatimaareespeciallyrevealing.Pacellistateshis
beliefthatthewarningsofOurLadyatFatimaareaboutprimarilyinternalthreats
totheChurchratherthanexternalonesnamely,throughthesuicideofthe
alterationoftheFaithinitsinitsliturgy,itstheology,anditssoul.Thisruns
contrarytothenarrativeofthosewhoarguethatmessageofFatimaonlyspeaksof
individualconversion,andnotwarningofthecrisisintheChurchweare
experiencingtodaysinceVaticanII.

AstotheThirdSecretanditspossibleunrevealedpartaboutapostasyintheChurch
eventouchingthepope,itshouldbenotedthatPiusXIIdidnotlikelyeverreadSr.
LuciaslettercontainingtheThirdSecret.AccordingtothetestimoniesofCardinal
OttavianiandMonsignorCapovilla,SecretaryofPopeJohnXXIII,theenvelope
containingthesecret,whicharrivedinRomeonApril16,1957,wasstillsealed
whenJohnXXIIIopeneditin1959,oneyearafterPiusXIIsdeath.However,
havingbeenmadeSecretaryofStatetoPiusXIjusttwelveyearsaftertheFatima
apparitions,Pacelliwasapparentlyinformedandevengravelyconcernedbytheyet
unwrittenconfidencesoftheVirgintoSisterLucia,whichpresumablywarnedof
acrisisoffaithintheChurch.

RegardingtheauthenticityandreliabilityofCardinalPacellis
comments

PrivatecommentslikeCardinalPacellis,thatarelaterrevealedcanonlyberejected
asinauthenticontwobases:ifthecommentsconflictwithknowntruth,orifthe
onewhorevealsthemisuntrustworthy.

Onbothcounts,thesePacelliquotationsstanduptoscrutiny.Theynotonlydonot
conflictwiththetruth,butrather,infact,propheticallypredictthestateofthe
Churchtoday.ThecredentialsofCountGaleazzi,thesource,andMsgr.Roche,the
authorofPieXIIdevantlhistoire,moreover,aresound.

Ifthequoteswerefabricated,surelyCountGaleazzi(whodiedin1986,14years
afterPieXIIdevantlhistoirewasfirstpublished)wouldhavechallengedthe
veracityofMsgrRochesaccount,andsurelyMsgr.Rochewouldnthavedaredto
publishthisaccount,inconsultationwithGaleazziinthefirstplace,ifthepassage
wereblatantlyfalse,knowingthatGaleazziwasaliveandcouldeasilydebunkit.
Bothmenweremenoflearning,reputationandproximitytothetime,theevents,
thepeople,andthePontiffPiusXIIhimself.

Msgr.Roche,moreover,wassecretaryandconfidantforthirtyyearstotheFrench
CardinalEugneTisserant(whohimselfwasarchivistandproprefectofthe
VaticanLibraryfrom1930to1936),andwhosearchivesarecitedastheprimary
sourceofthebook.ItwasreporteduponTisserantsdeaththathebequeathedhis
personalfilestoMsgrRoche.TisseranthimselfwasconsecratedbyCardinalPacelli
(PiusXII)andwasrespectedsomuchthathewasthefirstpersonafterPopePaul
VItosigneachoftheactsoftheVaticanII.

ItshouldbenotedthatPieXIIdevantlhistoirewasgivenascathingreviewby
liberallaicizedexpriestEmilePoulatatthetimeofitspublicationinArchivesdes
sciencessocialesdesreligions(1972,vol.33,no.33,p.292293).Poulatcalledthe
workasawholeimprobable,bearinglittleresemblancetothetruth.Hecriticized
theauthorsforpoorcitations,bibliographies,andvariouserrors,allfromthe
samefancifulink.Poulat,however,hadsuspectmotivesforcriticizingthebook.
PoulatwasaModernistpriestwhorenouncedthepriesthoodfollowingPiusXIIs
1954condemnationofthemodernistworkerpriestmovement,ofwhichPoulatwas
amember.ItismorethanreasonabletodisregardPoulatscritiquesasthatofa
disgruntledexclericwithamodernistagenda,irrelevanttothequestionofthe
veracityoftheseparticularquotesfromPacelli,whichPoulatdoesnotevenaddress
inhiscritiqueofthebook.

Msgr.RochesPieXIIdevantlhistoireisalsocitedbyseveralhistoricalbiographies
aboutthelifeofPiusXII,suchasinJacquesKornbergsThePopesDilemma,Neal
PeasesRomesMostFaithfulDaughter,andPhilippeChenauxsPaulVI:Le
souverainclair.

Theskepticalcritic,therefore,mustproveadocumentaryfraudonthepartofclose
collaboratorsofPiusXII(withnoclearmotive),involvingtheinventionofanentire
conversationthatneverhappened,andhemustshowhowitisthatanallegedly
fabricatedconversationturnedouttobesofullofaccurateprophecies.

WhilesomemayrightlypointoutthePopePiusXIIscontroversialreformsofthe
HolyWeekliturgyin1955and1956,devisedbythemodernistAnnibale
Bugnini,beganthisprocessofthedestructionoftheliturgythatculminatedinthe
NewMass,nevertheless,CardinalPacelliswarningsaboutthesuicideofaltering
thefaithinitsliturgyarechillingwarningsforourtime.Indeed,wehave
witnessedPacelliswarningsofananthroprocentricChurchcometruethroughthe
harmfuldealingsofbishopsandevenpopesinlivingmemoryandtoday,fromPope
JohnXXIIIandPaulVItoPopeFrancis.PacellisimageofMaryMagdaleneatthe
tombisapowerfuloneforthesufferingsoffaithfulCatholicsinourowntimein
watchingtheeventswarnedbyOurLadyofFatimaunfold:Christianswillsearch
fortheredlampwhereJesusawaitsthem,likethesinfulwomancryingoutbefore
theemptytomb:WherehavetheytakenHim?

CardinalPacellisremarks,however,havetwooptimisticprophesiesfortraditional
Catholicstotakecouragein,ofhowChristwillsaveHisChurch.Thefirstis
that,AllhumanheresieswhichalterthewordofGodaresothatagreaterlight
mightappear.Indeed,manyhavenotedthattheacutecrisisintheChurch,
especiallymanifestinthepapacyofPopeFrancis,haveunmaskedmanyofthe
wolvesinsheepsclothingamongbishops,priests,andcareerCatholiclay
commentators.Thecurrentcrisishasalsoeffectivelyrenderedtheultamontanism
ofCatholicneoconservatismuntenable,atlastopeningupafrankdiscussionofthe
sourcesofthecrisisinwhatwentwrongatVaticanIIandthePaulineliturgical
reforms.WemayhopethatgreaterlightmayappearforfuturesuccessorsofPope
FranciswhowillbetaskedwiththedutyofrestoringtheChurchfromdamagedone
notonlybythepapacyofPopeFrancisbutbyVaticanIIitself.

ThesecondhopefulprophesyisthattheunderdevelopedpeoplesinAfrica,Asia,
etcwillsavetheChurch.Pacellispredictionbringstomindrecentremarks
byCardinalRobertSarahspeakingofAfricasstrongstanceinfavorofthefamilyat
thesynodonthefamily:Ihaveaconviction:ItwillbeAfrica,andthereforethe
Church,whowillsavethefamilyInthisdeepanthropologicalcrisis,Africa,
despiteherpoverty,andindeedbecauseofthispoverty,whichisthepovertyof
ChristintheGospel,cangivetotheChurchhermostprecioustreasure:fidelityto
GodandtotheGospel,herloveoflifeandthefamily.SoonAfricaandother
nationswhowereoncethemissionterritoryofChristianitymayreevangelizethe
postChristianWesternworldthatfirstbroughtthemtheFaith.

Toconclude,wehavenoreasontodoubttheauthenticityoftheprophetic
confidencesofCardinalPacelliin1933.Indeed,theyareworthyofprayerful
meditationandwidestdisseminationbyfaithfulCatholicsduringthis,the
100thAnniversaryofOurLadyofFatima,sothatwetoocanhelpendthesuicidal
crisisthattheChurchisundergoingtoday.

AwitnesstotheSovietpersecution,Msgr.Slozkaz,whoescapedfromtheRed
Hell,attendsthisceremonyasthefirstvictimofthiscrucifixion,whichhasbeen
themarkofChristianssincetheestablishmentoftheChurchofPeter.

Already,Msgr.Pacelliisfondofsymboliclocations,thosethatstrikethespiritand
permeatethesoul.HebuiltthisseminaryoftheMissions,drawnfromthewillof
PiusXI,onthepromontoryoftheJaniculumoverlookingSaintPetersSquare.Itis
theChurchoftomorrow,theonethatwillincludeallpeoplesofcolorinthe
governmentoftheChurch.Foritsconstruction,Msgr.Pacelliobtainedacreditthat
thehighadministrationoftheVaticanalmostrefusedhim.
