2. Analysed the Culture practices in UPNM for managing business.

POWER DISTANCE DIMENSION

UPNM is a big power distance, it is because the authority is to be respected. It always
reminded that people in UPNM must respect each other especially older people. In ALK , the
cadets must respect who are more senior or higher rank than them. It is being a UPNM
culture nowadays. From that, when the order are given we must obey it, because it is the
rules in the UPNM. Those who are not obey the rules, they will be punish or fined.

COLLECTIVIST / INDIVIDUALIST
UPNM is a collectivist because the desicion are primarily made according to what is best
for the group. In UPNM we always work in group, this is because we are train to have
cooperation and not leave our friend behind. If one are false everybody will take the
punishment. It is not cruel, on the same time it train us to always look for our friend and not
being selfish in any condition. UPNM also always use the word we to describe or talk about
something thats means the decision is not base on a person, but in a group.

MASCULINE / FEMINIME DIMENSION

UPNM is on feminime dimension because it focus more on quality, for cadet officer, they
want to made a good and responsible army that one day will lead our country. For civillian ,
they focus to achieve in high grades so that they will easy get an opportunity for work when
grades in the future one day. It also focus on quality of life and service motivates. With this
dimension, all people in UPNM will have a good quality and have place in the market.

UNCERTAINTY AVOIDANCE DIMENSION

UPNM have high uncertainty avoidance, this is because UPNM are concern about security
since UPNM is in military based. So the security is the authority. Thats why when people
from outsider want to come to UPNM, they must leave their identity card in the office and
have an inspection, Then, they can enter the UPNM.It seen like hard but it is good for the
UPNM. UPNM also have the resistance to change. This is because, when they are problems,
UPNM will try their hard to make an improvement and change so that they will standing
equally with other university.

LONG TERM ORIENTATION

UPNM is a long term orientation because it is need for accountability, and self discipline.
Since they have many vision to achieved it is suitable for long term orientation.It also develop
and maintain lifelong personal networks. UPNM also have large and economic differences
should not be tolerated. UPNM these few years are struggli ng to maintain and increase their
names. SInce many problem had occur. They need to overcome the problems.
