The Ministry of Youth and Sport is one of the 25 ministries of the Government of Malaysia.

Ministry of Youth

and Sport is responsible for the youth development, youth organisation and sports. According to the latest

statistic, this ministry has over 3,817 employees. Their annual budget is approximately around MYR 787, 774,

400.

The minister that is responsible for this ministry is Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar. After retaining his

parliamentary seat in the 2013 election, Prime Minister Najib Razak elevated Khairy to the Cabinet as Minister

for Youth and Sport. Later in the 2013, he was re-elected to the presidency of UMNO Youth. While the deputy

minister is Saravanan Muragan.

This ministry mission statement is to create an enabling environment and act as a catalyst and facilitator for the

promotion and development of youth and sports at regional, national and international levels. In my opinion, I

believe that this ministry has truly achieved its mission statement. Why? This is because in terms of sports,

Malaysia has achieved the international levels. As an example, the latest event that was at our country,

SEAGAMES KL 2017. Where countries from South East Asia came to compete. Some of our home grown

heros such as Farah Ann who won a gold medal for gymnastics. Other than that, Mohd Azizulhasni who won

Malaysias first gold at Cycling World Championships, Hong Kong.

Nextly, the vision of the ministry is to be responsible to the aspirations and needs of youth, empowering them

for a better future and fostering a culture of sport among the citizens. Sport is one of many events where 3 races

of Malaysia united one flag. To me, sports instil the feeling of patriotism in every Malaysian.

The Ministry of Youth and Sport practice and promote certain core values. Firstly is integrity. They are guided

by the highest standards of professional ethics. Other than that, the next core value is transparency. They

practice an open door policy and they operate in all fairness and transparency. Lastly, they instil the value of

teamwork. This is because they foster teamwork and the sharing of information and resources.

In a nutshell, we can conclude that these are some of the important information of Ministry of Youth and Sport.

Overall, I can say that, they have achieved most of their targets and mission.
