RADIO FOR TRAIN VHF Locomotive Radio System Manufactured by PT. Simoco Indonesia ‘The Locomotive Radio System (LRS) comprises three modules. They are the Locomotive Transceiver Unit (LTU) and the two Locomotive Radio Control Unit (LRCU) . ‘The LTU contains a Simtoco SRM9000 VHF Transceiver; a Locomotive Transceiver Conerol Printed Cireuie Board (PCB); and « DCIDC Convertor. These con\ponenes are mounted in a ruggedised steel case. There are four. heavy duty connectors to connect the two LRCUs, the Locomative power supply and the locomotive VHF antenna. ‘The Locomotive Radio Control Unit has all the controls, indicators and displays necessary for the operation of the Locomotive Radio System. The LRCU contains a Locomotive Radio Control Unit PCB and Locomotive Radio Control Unit Front Panel PCB. They are mounted in a cast aluminium case, located within easy reach of the locomotive driver. A handset is inclided with the LRCU. ©simoco LOCOMOTIVE TRANSCENER UNT (ETH A Single cable is connected betwen the LTU and each LRCU. This supplies the power to the LRCU and provides the ata connections. ‘The locomotive Radio System is powered from the +74 Volt DC locomouve power supply. The DC/OC converter convert the +74 Volts DC inputto +13.8 Volts to operate the VHF twansceiver and the electronics in all Units. The internal supplies to all critical functions are regulated. Separate power supplies are used for digital and analog Gireuits to minimica interference ‘The Locomotive Transceiver Unit uses digital PCM encoding and decoding techniques to communicate with the two Locomotive Radio Control Units “The Transceiver may be controlled from either of the Locomotive Radio Control Units. The active LRCU is selected automatically ‘The Locomotive Transceiver Unit and Locomotif Radio Control Units use rmicro-controllers, with programs stored in EPROMS, to control their functions. The cable between the LTU and the LRCU are two pair cable. One pair is wed fur +12 Volts DC power supply. The other pair are used for voice and control signals. The signal between the LTU and LRCU are transferred in full duplex mode. The front panel of the LRCU consist of a PCB which provides interconnection and mounting for the four LED indicators, 4-Digic Numeric Display and the six. control push buttons. The Locomotive radio Control Unit Front Panel PCB is connected to the LRCU PCB viaa ritbon cable. The Front Panel PCB, The LRCU loudspeaker and the loudspeaker volume control are mounted on the LRCU front panel which also forms the id to the LRCU enclosure.
