Notes:
Kinds of Trash: (use Pie-chart to show percentages)

1. Residual
2. Recyclable
3. Biodegradable
4. Special Waste

Engr Joseph: In UPLB, the policy is to only collect residual waste which is 10% of the total
waste only.

As a student, campaigning waste segregation is a very healthy advocacy. You can

star segregating waste in your dorms, apartments, homes, and the like.
Main problem of UPLB on waste management is Waste Segregation.

we cannot simply impose and enforce segregate waste or be penalized. It has to

be step by step, but very difficult.

TIPS: (Use Figures) : UPLB Spends around 150 K per month in waste management. (you can
compare this with some monthly salaries)
Expenses: Mgt, transpo (to San Pedro Laguna, there landfills are nearby located)

Use data and cite facts and opinions from CDC SWM and UPLB SWM campaigns (2013).

Enrique Tolentino: Clean UP: Solid Waste Program ng UPLB Ang Pagtalima o pagsunod sa Republic
act 9003 - To segregate waste and dispose them properly to respective segregated bins

With the program, UPLB longs to be a model of cleanliness and orderliness

There is a need to change UPLB policies on Solid Waste Management:
UPLB now has new policies to follow R.A. 9003. Patungo sana tayo sa iisang sanitary land fill.

How much solid waste UPLB generates? 12m^3 a day, and more than 200 m^3 ,

12m^3 a day = 3 full truck load

200 m^3 a month = 50 full truck load

Transport Cost(ONLY): Shipping fee and Tolling fee = 1.8 M pesos / year

Everyone is part and will be of big help:
