#ISRO Preparation 2017 #Repost
Part 2- strategy!
1- What to study?
Gate syllabus should be studied thoroughly. Along with some more focus on mechanics+ SOM. If you
have not studied any particular subject before please finish it in next 10-12 days only. After that you need
to focus only on revision.
2- How to study?
a. Read theory notes/ classnotes/ coaching notes and prepare short notes for revision. ( Can avoid reading
classnotes if thoroughly done for gate) . Remember in last 7-8 days only short notes to be revised.( Short
notes must have only imp concept and formula. Thats it!)
b. After reading kindly go to previous Gate/IES Q and try to solve without looking. If u make mistake try
to read that particular concept again from TEXT or YouTube and solve on ur own. Directly looking at
solution lowers ur strength to think in exam!
C. Mistake if made should be noted in your Short notes! Belive me this helps a lot and you won't repeat
them again. Sarthak and Me too have used this approach in IES!
D. Any new formula, new concept learned, and SHORTCUTs to be noted in shortnotes and used in exam.
For eg. Deflection formula for common beams with loads, SFD, BMD shapes. This will save ur time and
give u more time than other students.
3- What to solve
I suggest you to solve whole previous IES/GATE and then finally go for previous ISRO papers.. Solving a
ISRO paper will give u enormous confidence.
( Solving makes u remember formula with out even reciting them, in exam your hand will automatically
write formula as your eyes read Qs..!)
Also hand calculations get faster and faster with more numericals you solve, makes you a way ahead than
other candidates :)
