Course Description:
This course will examine world history through the disciplines which compromise
the humanities: the arts, philosophy, literature, history, political institutions, and
religion. It explores the great ideas and actions of humankind, which have shaped
life. Although the course emphasizes the development of western culture,
students will also study the contributions of other civilizations. This course will
combine open resources on the internet and audio visual material instead of a
solely relying on a textbook.
Course Supplies:
Textbook: World History: The Human Journey (Holt, Rinehart, Winston)
Supplies: Pens (blue or black)
3 Ring Binder for A or B day
A spiral notebook
looseleaf paper
Homework:
Students will be expected to read regularly, check the webpage,
complete simple assignments at home and work on longterm
projects.
