The Making of the Grathanich: start of The Birthing Age (gnomoi, Hitehkel)
Reorx forges the Grathanich atop Mount Garath, drawing upon the magical might of Lunias. Within this
gem, Udras the Alchemist blends massive magical power. The gem is presented to the First King,
Aldinanachru, as a sign of favour from Reorx to his kind.
Aldinanachru orders the Grathanich placed in the tower of Lunias atop Mount Garath.

Greystone Created:
Magic is unknown in the world. Reorx, god of the forge, creates the Greystone of Garath. In it is
concentrated the magical essence of the grey moon, Lunitari.

Graystone Forged:
The exiled gods of magic2 approach the trickster god, Hiddukhel (Hiteh), and ask him to help them return
to the world. He convinces the nature goddess, Chislev (Jijin) to ask Reorx to make the Graystone for the
exiles as a remembrance of their lost world. Reorx sets this magical gem on the moon Lunitari (Lunais),
and the gods of magic secretly fill it with their essences.

According to the Irda, Reorx intended to capture but a small portion of Chaos, The Father of All and of
Nothing, and imprison it within the stone. He brought his completed Graygem to Lunitari (Lunais), as
Chislev (Jijin) had asked. The stone caused all who looked upon it to covet it, so Lunitari never let it out of
her sight- even when its creator begged to have it back

ca. 3100 PC
Grathanich Released: start of II: The Cursed Age (gnomoi, Hitehkel)
Hiteh tricks Milgas Kadwar of the minoi into releasing the Grathanich. It drifts off to the west, wreaking
havoc through its magical energies. In punishment for their foolishness, Reorx banishes the Kadwar,
largest of the minoi clans, to pursue the Grathanich across the face of the world.

(When the minoi arrive in Ansalon, they abandon the minoi name to become the gnomes of Mount
Nevermind, on the Isle of Sancrist, west of Northern Ergoth.)

Greystone Released:
The gnomes pull the Greygem from the skies, and it floats across the face of the world, leaving destruction
and chaos in its wake. Through the gem, magic is brought into the world. Some gnomes are changed by
the gem, creating the kender and dwarven races.

The gods of magic were exiled for interfering in mortal affairs; they sent three mages to give the elves
of Silvanost five magical dragon stones, capturing the dragons spirits within, and turning the tide of the
First Dragon War
The gods of magic have Hiddukhel, with Reorxs help, trick one of Reorxs chosen, Milgas Kadwar, into
climbing up to Lunitari using an uncanny device and stealing the Graystone from its hiding place there.
However, Milgas fumbles, dropping the gem from the sky. With it, the gods of magic enter the world.

Reorx fretted and fumed and at last hit upon a way to retrieve the Graygem. In a dream, he showed the
stone to a gnome, one of his chosen, who grew to want it more than anything. The gnome managed to
capture the gem, but refused to give it up, even to Reorx himself. In the ensuing argument, the gem
escaped its captors, and floated away across the land.
The gnome and others gave chase, watching as the Graygem wreaked havoc upon all it touched. It
eventually let a human, Gargath, capture it again. The gnomes laid siege to Gargaths castle, and
eventually managed to grab the stone once more. As they fought over it, the gem cast its grey light onto
them, turning some into kender, and some into dwarves. 3 Then the Graygem vanished over the horizon.

Minotaur race was created from Taladan Ogres by the energies of the Graygem. Minotaurs are soon
enslaved by their once-kinsfolk

Minotaur refugees, freed from the shackles of Istar, in a fleet of thirty ships led by Mat oth-Kithka, a
descendant of Ambeoutin, arrive on the shores of Southern Hosk, and go on the establish the Imperial
League of Minotaurs

ca 296 AC
The Oath:
Evil dragons are brought back into the world by Erestem, whereupon the Oath of Neutrality is extracted
from the Good dragons.

NB, prior to this, dragons had not been seen in the world since the end of the Third Dragon Was, which
marked the end of the Age of Dreams (Ansalon), some 1300 years ago

IV: Age of Dragons (Taladas)

Dragons Disappear from Taladas to present

Dwarves steadfastly maintain that they were the last, and best, creations of Reorx, fashioned in his
image.
ca 330 AC
In preparation for the attack on Ansalon, evil dragons are sighted leaving Taladas in mass flights. Some of
their kind refuse to obey Erestem, preferring their lives here. These creatures become known as the
orthlox, the uninvolved. Erestem curses the orthlox.4

ca 345 AC
The first of the Good dragons is sighted over Taladas. Although prevented by the Oath from becoming
involved in Erestems plans, nothing prevents them from searching for their stolen eggs.

Maladraxus is an orthlox, who stole a clutch of bronze dragon eggs from Erestem with a view to
creating a private army of draconians with which to carve out a kingdom for himself, proclaiming himself
God-king over his draconian and hurdu subjects
