You are to complete Assignment 2 which is regarding Manage Recruitment, Selection and
Induction Processes. This Assignment has been developed by ATMC as assessments for a
unit that is part of its Diploma of Information Technology qualification and is used for this AUPP
unit as part of this AUPP unit assessment. The instructions inside the ATMC Learner
Assessment are for competency-based assessments where you will have to meet all
requirements in the tasks to be deemed Competent.

There are 4 tasks in this Assignment:

4. Written Test

If you are Competent you will get 6 marks for this Assignment. If you are Not Yet Competent

ASSESSMENT TASK 1 PROJECT


This information which is in the Learner Assessment pack is provided to each student to outline the assessment requirements on
the Learning Management System (LMS).

Learner Instructions

You are to develop a policy and procedures framework for recruitment, selection and induction
for new recruits into your organisation / department. Document your process so that it covers
the points below. Be sure to:
Analyse strategic and operational plans and policies to identify relevant policies and
objectives
Develop recruitment, selection and induction policies and processes, and supporting
documents including an employment contract
Utilise appropriate technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the
recruitment/selection process
Obtain policies and procedures from the LMS
Trial and measure against your objectives all forms, procedures and induction processes
(making all necessary changes)
Explain your policies and procedures when you submit this task

To complete this task, you will need to consider a business or industry. Your assessor will
perform the role of your supervisor to answer any questions you have regarding the
development of this project. You can contact your assessor by using the Chat function on the
LMS or email or making an appointment for a video conference.

ASSESSMENT TASK 2 OBSERVATION


This information which is in the Learner Assessment pack is provided to each student to outline the assessment requirements on
the Learning Management System (LMS).

Learner Instructions

You are required to consider a new business you can develop. Consider areas of your
expertise, where you can provide benefit into a business environment.

Once identified, you are to implement your recruitment process to select staff for employment
into your organisation / department.

To demonstrate this, you need to:

Explain your reasoning for creating this vacancy


Develop a position description for the vacancy
Identify the personnel specifications for this vacancy
Develop job advertisements for at least 2 media streams (one job advertisement for
each media stream)
Detail the cost involved with lodging both job advertisements
Conduct a job interview with 2 fellow students or any 2 support persons who will be
roleplaying as job applicants ***1
Select the most suitable candidate for the position (or explain why no candidate is
suitable)
Negotiate salary and employment conditions with a successful candidate (you will need
to provide a total package to offer to the successful candidate) ***2
Advise the successful candidate of the result in writing
Advise the unsuccessful candidate of the result in writing

***1 You will need to have your job interviews with 2 job applicants recorded on a video with at
least 5 minutes duration for each job applicant to be submitted for assessment. It is important
that you take this part seriously, as this is valuable experience. Your assessor will observe this
process closely through your videos.

***2 You will need to have your salary and employment conditions negotiation with the
successful candidate recorded on a video with at least 5 minutes duration. Your assessor will
observe you through your video.

ASSESSMENT TASK 3 OBSERVATION

Learner Instructions

For this task you are required to manage and deliver a 20-minute staff induction program. You
will need to have this recorded on a video for submission.

You will be observed conducting this induction program via your video by your assessor for your
candidate you employed in Assessment Task 2.

You will need to be prepared for this program, which requires you to develop a staff induction kit
that:
Provides an introduction to your business
Provides information to your new employee regarding:
o Salary
o Conditions of employment
o KPIs
o Accountability
o Any relevant internal procedures (including for example WHS, etc.)

ASSESSMENT TASK 4 WRITTEN TEST


This information which is in the Learner Assessment pack is provided to each student to outline the assessment requirements on the
Learning Management System (LMS).

Learner Instructions
This is an open book written test. Therefore, you are allowed to access resources that can help
you to answer the test.

1. The LMS will provide a date for this open book written test.
2. You can do the test within the allocated duration on the LMS.
3. You will need to do the test in an assigned location or in a monitored online environment
(such as through Zoom monitoring) so that the authenticity of your work can be verified
by the Colleges staff/ representative.
4. Do not cheat or plagiarise the work of others. Anyone caught cheating will automatically
be marked Not Yet Competent for this unit. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule.
5. Once completed, you will need to upload your completed test to the relevant assessment
folder on the LMS. Your assessment will be marked accordingly.
