Reteaching Lesson Plan Template 1
- Explain why we are working on this Habit of Mind
o We have noticed that many of you are not using your tablemates to help
you understand and solve the math problems
o First reaction is always to ask for help
I dont know what to do
I dont get it
o Explain Metacognition
Thinking about thinking
Questions that you should be asking yourself and your
tablemates
What did you do first?
What clues did you have that you were on the right track
How did you know where to begin
What led you to make that decision
When you said you started at the beginning how did you know
where to begin

Formative Assessment for this portion of the lesson:

INDEPENDENT PRACTICE (__ min.)
How will you clearly state and model behavioral expectations?
In what ways will students attempt to demonstrate independent mastery of the
objective?
How will you provide opportunities for extension?
Why will students be engaged/interested?

Reteaching Lesson Plan Template 2
- Have students begin their math classwork
- Teachers: Walk around the room observing students and helping the students
question each other.
o Teachers only instruct if the table demonstrates that they do not
understand the question or they do not understand the concept.
o Afterwards always ask students to explain what I did and if possible
explain.

Formative Assessment for this portion of the lesson:

CLOSING (__ min.)
How will students summarize what they learned?
How will students be asked to state the significance of what they learned?
How will you provide all students with opportunities to demonstrate mastery of (or
progress toward) the objective?
Why will students be engaged/interested?

- Discuss with coteacher key observations about the groups

- What can be changed? What should we keep? Positives and negatives?
