A. MEASURES ON SECOND READING

1. Veto Message from the Office of the Municipal Mayor, this local unit, dated
LUZ M. QUIONES
August 15, 2017, RE: Returning the SB Resolution No. 2017-109, entitled: A
SB Member resolution earnestly requesting the Hon. Nelson L. Dayanghirang, Provincial
Governor of Davao Oriental, to kindly allocate funds for the completion of the
road construction from Brgy. San Isidro to Brgy. Marayag, both of this
municipality.

SB Member Hon. Juan A. Maralit, Jr., the sponsor of the said resolution, recalled the
proceedings of the 49th Regular Session, when the said resolution was adopted, and
emphasized the fact that there is already appropriation for the said project. And he
quoted page 4 of 9, no. 43 of the journal: let me explain Mr. Chairman. Actually
EDNA B. BOTE this is a resolution being referred to me by the Hon. Vice Mayor. However, in reality
SB Member
there is already an appropriation for that purpose. From Macangao to San Isidro is
Two Hundred Million and the ongoing construction. I believe if the Provincial
Government and TADECO have already agreed on the encroachment of the
JUAN A. MARALIT, JR. TADECO of the provincial road. I dont know what happened to that, however there
SB Member is already an appropriations. Another is that per record on the national assistance to
the province that will be for the benefit of the Municipality of Lupon. Another
construction in the amount I believe of Seven Hundred Million is a construction of
road from San Isidro to Calapagan passing through the interior roads of Don
SANI C. HANANI Mariano going to Calapagan.

Thus, there was no need to override the veto of the Honorable Mayor.
