2. Log In to the Freescale Website. If you do not already have a login Password you can
Register using any email account.
4. Download the USB Driver for the ZSTAR Board USB_WINDOWS_DRIVERS.ZIP and
Unzip it into a directory of your choosing (or get it from the ZSTAR installation CD)
6. Insert the ZSTAR USB Stick Board into a USB port on your computer. The D3 LED
should not be blinking slowly (this is a mouse mode, if it blinks wait until automatic
installation finishes, then press the S1 switch).
7. Install the USB Driver software into the directory as prompted. For Windows XP:
a. Choose Install from Specific Location (Advanced)
b. Choose directory where you unzipped USB Driver to (or on ZSTAR installation
CD)
c. Click ‘Continue Anyway’ then ‘Finish’
8. Install CR2032 battery into the ZSTAR Sensor Board and switch ON (SW1) – the slide
switch is at the bottom right of the board on the component side, on the edge of the
board.
10. Once connection between the two boards is established, two LEDs on each board are
blinking. You can verify this in the Scope.
11. You should now be ready to play with all of the demo applications!

12. Go to the ZSTAR Product Summary Page at

follow the two Java related links at the bottom:
13. Java Runtime Environment needs to be downloaded from http://java.com and installed
first.
14. Java 2, Micro Edition (J2ME) Wireless Toolkit version 2.2 needs to be downloaded
and installed from http://java.sun.com/products/sjwtoolkit/ (registration at Java.com is
required)
15. Once ready, open the folder with Java game (Shoota Delic game) – doubleclick jad file:
Shoota_SEK700Gx_B01.00.04_(5L)_[accel].jad
16. Click on the right top button “Launch”, then once again (“Yes” for OK to open a data
connection) and last SELECT button in the middle “Play”.
17. To control the game, tilt the board left/right, and up/down to go through the different
levels.
For additional Java game troubleshooting, refer to readme.txt in the game folder.
20. Once installed, the ZSTAR Sensor Board will reconnect and by tilting it, you may move
your mouse pointer, both buttons work the same way as the mouse buttons.
