Item 4 appears to have been removed from Yahoo security options where 2 step authentication
has been set in Yahoo. They now have the option to choose to view emails on your computer and
having selected device type you can generate a device speci c password. Copy and paste that
password into the password eld in Outlook account con guration instead of your normal yahoo
password. Having applied all the other settings in the other steps in this guide and clicked Next,
the tests are successful and yahoo working great in my case on Outlook 2016. Thank you

Mitch, I do not have the option in my Yahoo account to turn on the setting for Allow apps that use
less secure sign in. I am using an Account Key in the security, can I get around that to use
Outlook?

Thanks for this. I got it to send a test message successfully but I get an error msg in Outlook
when it tries to receive messages from the Yahoo server. No Yahoo messages show up in
Outlook. On the Outlook page there ii see my name@yahoo.com on the left side but no sub folders
(inbox, sent, etc.) are there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
