PROJECT PROPOSAL

I. PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
1. PROJECT TITLE : TALISAWA WATER SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT
2. PROJECT LOCATION : Barangay Talisawa, Datu Abdullah Sangki, Maguindanao
3. NUMBER OF TARGET BENEFICIARIES : 971 Households
4. PROJECT BUDGET : Php 6, 500, 000.00
5. PROJECT RATIONALE :
The proposed project is a level II water system development. It includes major activities like
construction of intake box, elevated tank, and installation of pipes connecting to different communal
faucets near the group of houses. The source of water in these water system is located at Talisawa,
Datu Abdullah Sangki municipality. Based on the data of survey, the water discharges of source are
sufficient to serve the entire barangay.
Natural spring is about 2 kilometers away from barangay center of barangay Talisawa. It is the
source of the proposed project with a water discharge of 1.20 liter per second.
To ensure the sustainability of the water source catchment, enrichment of the existing forest
tress around the source will be provided by planting trees.

II. PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

The project aims to attain the following objectives:
a. To ensure sustainable water supply within the barangay;
b. To improve quality of water services;
c. To expand water services in barangay;
d. To provide adequate supply of water.

IV. PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION:

1. RESPONSIBLE AGENCIES:
The Peoples Organization will implement the project with the supervision of the Local
Government Unit of Datu Abdullah Sangki. The Talisawa Water Work System will provide the
technical assistance and closed coordination during implementation of the project.

3. SOCIAL ACCEPTABILITY: It is a need of the people to have this project they look for their own
water system for drinking; so they welcome the project.
