13 Five Basic Rules

Motion Offense Principles
1. If a player carries the ball toward you within the same triangle,
rotate the triangle and fill the space.
2. Rotate triangle when passing between middies and attack
triangles. After the pass cut with authority for a give-n-go.
3. Become the QB when you receive the ball. Read the
defense and do not mindlessly pass the ball.
4. The crease man must mirror the ball as it is passed around to
give the ball carrier space to dodge.
5. Rotate both triangles when there is a dodge.

Motion Offense Principles
1. Maintain formation balance - Off Ball movement and Moving to
Space is essential.
2. Move the ball around the perimeter to get everyone a touch.
3. The crease man must mirror the ball as it is passed around to give the
ball carrier space to dodge.
4. Rotate triangle when passing between middies and attack.
5. Rotate both triangles when there is a dodge. Treat each triangle as if on
a string.
6. A player must pass the ball at least twice after a failed attempted
dodge. Dodge-Pass-Pass-Dodge
7. Use V-Cuts to support the ball carrier and give open looks to pass
8. Once the defense reacts or slides, the dodger should quickly throw a
single push pass or pull pass.
9. The receiver should take quick look inside or for skip pass on a diagonal
before throwing another single adjacent pass to the backside.
10. Once we get the ball to the backside if we dont have a shooting
opportunity or a one more pass we will dodge again and follow same
principles outlined above.

Dodge to score!
1. Always dodge in a north / south direction with relation to your
defender.
2. Always start dodge with stick in opposite hand of intended direction
(split dodge). This allows your teammates to recognize rotation
direction in advance.
3. Utilize the double move split dodge to throw off defenders picking up
tendencies (first step is direction you will go in, then normal split
dodge).
4. Start dodge with good distance (i.e. 40+ yd line) and on pipe to ensure
good shooting angle.
