Hey guys today we are doing an activity that involves planets and stars.
1. First off Does anybody know what planets and stars are?
2. Give the children a minute or 2 to respond.
3. A planet is a large round object in outer space.
4. Outer space is a place beyond earth where there are stars and planets.
5. Demonstrate pictures of the planets (earth, Neptune, mares, Uranus)
6. Earth is the planet we all live in.
7. A star is an object that looks like light in the night sky. There is also a star that you can see in the
day. It is also the biggest star which is called the sun.
8. Demonstrate pictures of the sun and stars in the night sky.
9. Then ask the children, How are stars and planets alike?
10. How are they different?
11. Give them a few minutes to answer.
12. The sun is the biggest star.
13. Do you have any questions?
14. Okay now we are going to go outside and one by one put on sunglasses and look at the sun.
15. They are now ready for outdoor play.
