Henderson's nursing theory in relation to nursing practice shows that
nurses have the primary duty of direct nursing care to patients. The benefits
of nursing care is evident from the advancement of the condition of the
patient, which initially depends on others becoming more independent.
Nurses can help patients move from dependent to independent by reviewing,
planning, implementing and evaluating the 14 basic care handling
components.
