OBJECTIVES:
- S will perform the hand signs and body scale movements while singing, with 80% accuracy
- S will sing the correct rhythms, notes, and text with 80% accuracy
- S will connect ideas from sol and mi when presenting and recognizing la
- S will move safely and appropriately in the way that the game and song calls for
MATERIALS
- Projector
- Powerpoint
- Cup stacking cups

ACTIVITIES

2. "Blue Bells, Cockle Shells"
a.b. TT will ask S if they remember the song that T used to sing at thier grandma's house about the flowers
will have S sing through the song several times
c. T will cover RED Champs with S before covering the expectations of the game.
i. Before standing, T will instruct S that when they stand they will walk to a partner (and raise a hand if they do not have one yet) and take hands
with their partner.
ii. T will ask for one volunteer to demonstrate the movements in the song with them.
iii. T will have other S sing while T and one S demonstrate the movements twice through.
d. iv. T will instruct S to stand and find a partner while T sings through the song twice.
T will begin the story and have S perform the movements (5 times through)
e. T will instruct S to return to their seats and have a seat while T sings through once
3. Present La
a. T will show S the non-standard notation for "Blue Bells" on the board.
b. T will ask S to sing through the beginning of the song ON TEXT only using the non-standard notation.
c. Next, T will instruct S to sing through again on TEXT, this time, adding in the hand signs. (slow tempo. Will repeat if necessary.)

will ask S if they remember which names we gave to our hand signs (so and mi, as well as "high")
have S sing through again, using hand signs, but singing on solfa syllables this time.

and S will sing through "Blue Bells" on solfa syllables, using the hand signs
then pull up the non-standard notation for "Blue Bells" and have S input in writing the note names under the notes.
h. T and S will sing through "Blue Bells" on solfa syllables, using the hand sign
i. T will then ask S if they remember which of our friends have moved onto Melody Street already.
j. T will then tell S a story about so and mi's friend "la" who has come to move into the neighborhood.
k.l. TT will turn back to the non-standard notation and write the solfa names on the board, under the notes. (using S input)
will show S the hand sign for "la"
m. T will ask S to sing through using the solfa syllables with the new "la" and hand signs.
n. T will then pull up the non-standard notation for "Blue Bells" and have S input in writing the note names under the notes.
o. T and S will sing through "Blue Bells" on solfa syllables, using the hand sign
4.Review Cont.
a. T will instruct S to move to a seat circle while he sings Bobby Shafto through once
b. T will instruct S to sit criss cross and remind them of the movements for the song (pat, clap, grab, across)
- Have S point to the person they'll grab from and point to the person they are handing off to.
- T will have S say the movements as they do it and repeat it
c. T and S will repeat the actions without the music until S have 90% accuracy of movement and tempo, then T will add in the music with S
d. T will add in the cups, instructing S place the cups in front of them with their hands on their knees when they receive their cups.
e. T will have S practice the movements with the cups and then will add the music in.
f. T will have S pass their cups back into the T, and will instruct them to walk back to their seats and sit while T sings through "Little Sally Water" once.
ASSESSMENTS
- T will observe S ability to perform the correct hand signs and body scale movements while singing.
-T will perform informal listening observations to assess S ability to sing with the correct rhythm, pitch, & text.
- T will use S input to assess their ability to dictate Sol and Mi using non-standard notation on the Smartboard
-T will observe S behavior and actions, taking note of Ss moving in a safe and appropriate manner.
