Mrs. Dianne Deichman

Principal, Charter Home Study Academy
El Dorado County Office of Education
4675 Missouri Flat Road
Placerville, CA 95667

Dear Mrs. Dianne Deichman:

During my time as a parent at Charter Home Study Academy (CHSA), you and I have
become well acquainted. You have made me aware that you recognize my fitness for an open
position at CHSA teaching secondary level History/Social Studies. Thank you for believing that I
will make a difference in the lives of CHSA students. Your endorsement is very encouraging! Our
school continues to transition from a traditional elementary environment to a needs-based charter,
and beyond, as our community needs change. I would like to discuss how my background in
Liberal Studies and History will enable me to support CHSA in servicing the changing educational
needs of our 6-12th graders, particularly in the domain of Social Studies.

As a parent in our school, it is apparent that you want to see CHSA students succeed
through a reformed education model that meets students where they are, and through scaffolded
supports which students to climb higher on their own. I am prepared to use my familiarity with
the latest research on pedagogical approaches, educational technology advancements, and broad
knowledge base within the Liberal Studies and History disciplines to support our students, and
each other, in meeting this goal. More importantly, I will leverage the deep, affectionate
relationships and trust I have built with school families over the years to transition to a stance of
educational support, while maintaining the community support I have provided all along. I believe
I will benefit home-based students in my case load, in addition to classroom students, through my
proven ability to be flexible and work with a team to find appropriate resources to bolster each
students unique learning experience and academic performance.
I look forward to continuing our dialogue about how best to achieve your goals for CHSA
by way of putting my single subject Social Studies credential and Liberal Studies background to
work daily with the CHSA teaching team. I will contact your office next Thursday, October 19 th.
If you have follow up questions in the interim, please dont hesitate to contact me at 213-867-5309
or kwebb8@asu.edu. I always appreciate our conversations, and our next one will be just as
enjoyable, Im sure! Thank you for your time, Mrs. Deichman.

Kind regards,

Kaycee Webb
