1. ThelengthofasynopsisforthePh.D.Thesisshouldnormallybe1000to4000words
includingtablesandfigures.TheSynopsisshouldbeonA4sizepaper.Fourcopiesofthe
synopsisarerequiredtobesubmitted.

2. Thereexists,atpresent,awidevariationinthesubjectmatterandstyleofpresentation
ofthesynopsis.Theprimaryobjectiveofthesynopsisistoenablethereadertojudge
whetheraprimafaciecaseexistsforacceptingtheproposedPh.D.thesisfortheaward
of the Ph.D. degree. The synopsis should therefore, list, clearly, the contributions
resulting from the investigations carried out by the candidate, which have led to
advancementofknowledgeinthefieldofinvestigation.

3. Inordertofullyappropriatethecandidate'scontribution,itisnecessarytoputitina
propercontext.Itis,therefore,recommendedthatthesynopsisshouldcontainabrief
accountoftheexistingknowledgeandtheinadequacyorgapinthisknowledgethatled
the candidate to the formulation of the problem of his / her investigation. A few
references,neededinthisrespectshouldbeincludedbuttheirnumbershouldnormally,
notexceedten.
