BANANA SABA PEELER

ITRODUCTION

Bananas, particularly in the green state, are somewhat difficult to peel, the skin adhering

very firmly to the pulp. Hand peeling is objectionable, both because of its slowness, and because

the juices of the banana produce sores on the hands of the workers so that it is impossible for

anyone to continue the peeling for any length of time.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

Quirino province where agriculture is the main industry with rice and corn as major crops.

These supply the demand of neighboring provinces and the metropolis. Banana as well as banana

chips are major products sold in Metro Manila and Pampanga. Unfortunately, the region is still

stagnant in terms of technology in producing and processing of banana chips. Quirino province

still adopts the conventional manual peeling in which safety and sanitary is being compromised.

The demand for the improvement is evident and as an innovation of the peeling process,

automation is necessary since it improves the output, robustness of the processes and predictability

of the quality.

With this study, banana will be pushed to the skin divider full of blades that will slice the skin of

banana, it will be carried to the peeler where a pointed aluminum tooth peels the banana.

Using this technology, peeling bananas will be more easier , safer and tidier. It is easy to operate

and low-cost maintenance is required.

OBJECTIVE

To produce a simple machine for the purpose described, which shall produce very effective

separation of the pulp from the peel or skin, and which shall be rapid in operation.

BASIC COMPONENTS
Frame-The frame function as the support for other parts and for the safety of users from operational
parts of the machine. It also make the machine compact for mobility.
Electric motor - used to produce linear or rotary force
Dynamo uses rotating coir of wire and magnetic fields to convert mechanical rotation into adirect
electric current
Skin divider The purpose of this unit is to slice the skin of the green banana and convey to the
peeler. Bananas fed manually from the top or the inlet of the machine, it is hand push which is
single pulley driven. The skin of the banana are divided the peel into sections by 4 blades.
Rotary blades/Peeler- composed of circular aluminium that completely peels the green banana.
The divided sections of the banana peel from skin divider will be completely removed using peeler
away from the bared fruit. It split and the peel comes off in sections in the outlet of the machine
together with the peeled banana.
