By the end of the lesson, students will be (better) able to:
- Draw a summary\ favorite part of the story.
- Talk about their work.

Possible problems and solutions:


- Some students may be distractive and noisy.
I will tell them to be quite or they will lose a dago.
- Some students may be shy to answer
I will use encouraging words like (Good Idea, Excellent, Good answer, You are clever
student).
Materials:
- Story book for each student For (5 students).

- Observation paper. Students names.

- Worksheet Include:
(Tittle, Author, Characters and Main Idea).
Personal focus:
In this class I will be focusing on the medium level students. I will try to engage them for the story through
asking interesting questions. Also, I will evaluate their literacy skills through asking them to draw a
summary for the story and talk about it individually.
Engage:
Transition: - Get the students to set in the carpet at the beginning of the lesson.
I will ask all the students to set in the carpet and I will tell them what we will do in this class. We will have
a guide reading class today. I will take a group of you to do the guide reading with them while the other
have to go to the story corner, choose a story book and read it silently in their tables. I will give each one of
you this worksheet which it includes (Tittle, Author, Characters and Main Idea). You have to read your
story and answer the worksheet. While those students who are with me, go and bring your white board and
a marker and set in this table.

Core & Close:


Before Reading:
I will ask the students to set in the table and I will bring a chair for me, give each one of them a copy of the
story and after that I will tell them my rules. Each one of you will read. While your friend is reading you
have to point to the words. If am asking one of you a question and he\she didnt know the answer while the
rest of you know, you have to raise your hand first. Do not answer without raising your hand. Then I will
these questions What is the tittle of the book? Who wrote this book? Who draw the picture of this book?
What can you see in the cover page? What do you think the story will be about?
While Reading:
After that I will choose one of them to open the first page and start reading. In each page I will ask
questions like (What do you see here? Why do you think this happen? What do think will happen next?
How do you think the character felt here?. Also, while they are reading I will focus on their miss
pronunciations, if they read it wrong I will ask them to reread it again sound by sound (Like what they do
in the phonic class).
After Reading:
I will ask them to draw a summary for the story. They can also draw their favorite part of the story. After
they finish, each one will present his\her draw and talk about it.
