Step 2: The audience Logic is trying to reach is people struggling with depression and on the
verge of suicide. Also, people who are struggling with suicide not just of themselves but others
around them. He also reaches his fan base; the people who love to hear his music (Im one of
them). As a fan of Logic, I believe Logic tries to reach everyone, not just rap/ hip-hop fans.

Notice and Focus
In Logics 1-800 song, I noticed so many unique and powerful things. From the message to key
details in the message, the song makes a powerful impact. I notice that he doesnt mention the
word Suicide in his song at all but the song reflects the message of suicide . I notice that the
song title is an actual suicide hotline that people can call to talk about anything they are dealing
with. I notice that Logic is trying to save lives and make a difference in peoples lives with not
just this song alone but his whole album that involves this song. His album is called
Everybody and it includes many things that everybody is struggling with. For example, racial
discrimination, suicide, politics, etc. He expresses his passion for trying to save/ change peoples
lives by producing this album and showing that theyre not alone, that other people are struggling
as well, but also that itll be okay. Everything will get better. One of the most interesting things
to me is the fact that he chose to make the song title a suicide hotline number. I think it expresses
a sense of inspiration in way that inspires people to call somebody at that hotline and talk about
something they are struggling with. I love the fact that he chose to write about suicide. I think its
hard to write/ talk about a topic that is so deep and important to understand. No one wants to talk
about it, but we must because it effects our lives and the people around us. Logic does a great job
of portraying his message through this song. The song not only went 2x Platinum but is one of
the top songs in the nation and it continues to inspire/ change many.

I believe Logic is a great example of someone who is authentic. He represents authenticity
everywhere in his life whether through his songs, on social media, etc. Ive watched and listened
to many videos Logics featured in and he talks about how he doesnt care what anyone thinks

about him. I think Logic expresses this sort of explanation in many ways. On social media, hes
not afraid to post what he wants. To many, people are scared on what to post on social media
because they think others will judge them. In Logics case, he doesnt care if people judge him.
He cares about being true to himself. His famous moto he follows every day is Peace, Love, and
Positivity and he expresses all three of those words in his everyday life. He stays true to those
words and tries to express them to others through his social media, songs, etc. Logic to me is an
inspiration because he produces amazing music and he sends a great message. Not only that, he
expresses authenticity in everything he does. His song 1-800-273-8255 became one of the
hugest songs in America today because it expresses authenticity and it expresses a topic that
relates to many. It helps save lives as he describes it on Genius, a wonderful song website
where artists go in depth on their songs and/or albums. I love the fact that Logic stays true to
himself and I believe it makes an impact on many lives. His music as well as his attitude
definitely effects thousands of people every day.
