IMPORTANT CHANGES

To our valued customers,


CenturyLink would like to inform you of changes that are coming to your area. We have
previously upgraded our plant in your area to include fiber optic cable. This advanced technology
allows us to bring speeds up to 1 Gigabit into your home! With this technology available to us we
have begun retiring our copper cabling in the ground and converting our customers over to the new
fiber optic. By doing so, our current customers will have the opportunity to upgrade to faster and
more reliable speeds.

How this affects you:


Our records indicate that you are a current customer still using our copper facilities. Over the
coming weeks we will be doing a conversion process and moving your services over to the new
fiber optic lines. You will be receiving notifications throughout this process. We will be placing
all the necessary equipment up to the side of your home at no cost to you. Our retail staff will
also be notifying you of the potential speed upgrades now available but you do NOT have to
participate if you do not wish to. We will be waiving any install costs for those who do wish to
upgrade! If you would like to keep your current package, the billing portion of your account will
not be affected during this change over. Inside work may be required and will be scheduled at
your convenience after the outside equipment is ready.

Our process:
1. A technician will be out for a site survey to ensure all the necessary equipment is available to
complete the conversion. He will be checking to make sure a fiber optic line is buried from
the terminal to the side of your home. He will also be checking to see if a power outlet is re-
quired for the conversion of your service.
2. If a power outlet is required we will have one installed at no charge to you.
3. If a fiber optic line has not been placed, we will have one buried at no charge to you.
4. Once the outside work is complete we will notify you to complete the inside equipment
swap. This is the most important step because your current equipment will not work when
we finalize the conversion.
