Lesson idea implementation: The students will be introduced to the life of Jackie Robinson by having guided
reading time. The teacher will have students sit on the rug and she will read them I Am Jackie Robinson.
After the reading, students will discuss any parts of the book that they found interesting. The teacher will
then show them the short video of Jackie Robinson. The video highlights some of his many accomplishments
and even shows one of his homeruns. Following the video, students will discuss the contents with one
another and with the teacher.
To assess the lesson, I will give the students another figure to assess. Students will find books on Martin
Luther King Jr. and point out his accomplishments. The students will then look up pictures of events leading
and make their own video containing 4 pictures from MLKs life, a short video of a great accomplishment of
his, and 4 more pictures from MLKs life. The students must include at least 8 pictures and a short video
within their overall video that reflects the life of MLK in a positive light.

Importance of technology: This website creation tool is critical to the project because this lesson could not be
executed without technology. The students will need to complete this assignment using multimedia. Some
things that would be lost without the multimedia are the introductions to the lesson. Also the students would
have to access the information in the classroom. The students would not be able to complete this without
technology because in order to access the information needed they need the technology.
Inspiration (optional): If you used existing multimedia projects as a model for your project (Whether in part
or whole), include the URL(s) so we can visit. Explain what concepts you borrowed from others.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: Some issues that could arise with Internet safety and student privacy
are that their privacy and safety could be compromised. To avoid this, when allowing the students access, I
will make sure that only the students first name, last initial or a pseudonym is displayed. It is also important
to keep location information, such as the classroom number off of the site. I would also have myself, parents
and administrators to sign a privacy form to let parents and administrative staff know that there will be no
violations of the Internet Safety/Acceptable Use Policies.
