David Merchant Prize (SA & NT)


The late David Merchant was a long term AMEB examiner and
advisor who in 2002 entrusted to the AMEB an amount of money to
establish an annual prize in organ/piano/theory/musicianship/music
craft. The prize is known as the David Merchant Prize.
The value of the prize is $220 and is awarded annually at the
discretion of the Prizes Committee.
The prize is awarded for excellent work (A or A+) in organ (pipe) or piano,
or Distinction or High Distinction in Musicianship, Theory of Music or
Music Craft. The student must be from South Australia or the Northern
Territory and have successfully achieved AMEB Grade 6 or higher.
