COURSE AIMS
Students practices vocabulary building by speaking to improve skill development covered
by exercises in each sections. Every exercise is presented English with the intention that students
will not find any difficulties in going through it. By the end of the course, it is intended that
students will have a good understanding the usage of spoken English and be able to speak and
apply English in for their purposes.
ACTIVITIES
Students study the topics noted in the meeting schedule through some activities. Class
sessions take the form of lecturing, class discussion and students presentation based on the course
outline. Students presentation activity will be held once a week. Students are expected to
complete all course work within the semester. Students are required to participate in class. It is
expected that students will have prepared for weekly lectures based on the study guide.
Particularly for the students presentation activity, the class is divided in some groups. Each group
presents at least one topic during the semester.
ASSESSMENT
Students final grades will be determined on the basis:
Class attendance : at least 75%
Active participation : 20%
Assignments : 20%
Mid-Term Test: 30%
Final exams : 30%
Note : - both midterm and final exams will be given as in-class exams
No make-up exams will be given for genuine reasons of illness or under extraordinary
MEETING SCHEDULE
There will be 12 meetings focused on speaking skill including Mid Term and Final Test.

GROUND RULE
1. The students who come 15 minutes late are not allowed to join the class.
2. The students whose attendance less than 75% are not allowed to have final test and
automatically will not pass the course.
3. The students who are doing the tests deceitfully will influence their score.
