Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will
introduce the SRT activity.
Prior to the Student Response activity, students will study the parts of the plants and the
reproductive system of the plants. The students will watch videos about plants and have made a
KWL chart about plants. The students will also have made their own diagrams about plants. Since
they have all this knowledge about plants its time to assess them and see how much they
remember and understand. Each student will be handed a tablet where they will pull the Quizlet on
plants. This will be an individual task.
Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity:

The teacher will wait for all students to be on the correct Quizlet quiz using the Quizlet app. She will direct students
attention to the board where the Quizlet quiz name will be displayed, and students will search for
that quiz using their tablets. Each student will start working on their quiz at the same time. The
quizzes are self-paced and in total students will have 20 minutes to complete it.

Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):

Multiple choice Multiple select True/False Yes/No
Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank Longer open-ended response

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

Yes No
Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)

Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions
and display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
Yes
No
Why or why not?
This is a wonderful way to practice and see what you need to work on. Students can easily go back
and work on those specific questions.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
After the SRT, teacher will redirect students to a different activity or back to their seats. The teacher
will gather results of the class and will determine how to proceed, whether to create a summative
assessment for the students or to develop another lesson on this standard to help the students
better understand. Since Quizlet has a learn mode. Students will go there (using the same iPads) to
work on the questions they got wrong. Since Quizlet collects your information it will already know
which questions the student needs to practice.
How will the data be used?
The teacher will check each individual student quiz. If many students have missed the same question
it should be revisited or retaught. This data will be used as a guide for the teacher to observe where
the class is at and finding ways to differentiate lessons to help them better grasp this standard. This
is a formative assessment and will be graded as a quiz grade. This information will help create a
summative assessment.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.

Summer 2017_SJB
Student Response and Assessment Tools
My goal is to have students apply what they have learned when reading questions and the answer
choices. I hope my students will learn how to match a picture to the words and to the correct
answer. The students will be able to answer the same question in various forms.
