Lesson idea implementation:

The teacher will start off the lesson by having the video ready to play. Students will sit around the
carpet and wait for the video to start. The video is about 4 minutes long and it contains every planet.
The entire lesson will be completed in a week, more days will be added if students need it. The
students will use Kidspiration to create a chart, web, or any type of diagram that showcases all the
planets and their attributes. This will be how they are assessed for the lesson.

This activity can easily become LoTi 4 if they decide to make their own video. They may choose to
use this option instead of using inspiration. For this option they will be provided iPads and they will
use iMovie to create it. I will conclude the lesson by having the students draw their own water cycle
and creating their own video. This will be measured by how accurate the information they include in
their projects is.

Importance of technology:
Multimedia helps teachers create lessons using videos and pictures from the web. This project will
take longer and not be as educational for the student if it was done without technology. This project
lets the students create a movie using pictures or other videos. Kidspiration also uses technology.
Students can create anything they want there instead of using poster boards. They can use the

internet to search images and link them to their presentations. This lesson enhances the students
learning because they are creating something.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy:

This lesson uses iMovie which is on apple product and Kidspiration. Teachers must worry about the
permission to use students work. I would have the students work on their Kidspiration/movie
project during class. I will make sure I get the permission from the parents to allow me to use their
childs work before I post it to the class website. If parents decline, the video will not be published
for all to see, it will just stay in the four walls of the classroom.
