Teacher will integrate Language arts, social studies and art in this lesson.
Teacher will begin lesson by reviewing with students about the customs and celebrations done in The United
States and other parts of the world. Teacher will discuss with students how in America people celebrate
Christmas and many people like to decorate a Christmas tree. Teacher will ask students to share with a
partner what are some of the things that people might want to hang on a Christmas tree.
Teacher will read the book Celebraciones- dias feriados de los Estado Unidos y Mexico.
Teacher will reinforce the vocabulary in Spanish and will ask student questions about the book to check for
understanding.
Teacher will project on the Simplicity touch pictures of Christmas trees and different decorations and will
point out the elements of art with focus on lines.
Students will create a piece of art using a Christmas tree template divided into eight sections, each section
must be decorated using different kinds of lines.
