Dear Families,

Welcome to Pre-Kindergarten 3 at SWS!

Hello, my name is Wade Ingram (Mr. Wade to the kids) and I will be your childs teacher this year. I am
excited to join the SWS community. I have just finished my first year of classroom teaching and taught music to
early childhood and elementary students for two years prior to that. I am completing my Masters of the Art of
Teaching this school year. To tell you a bit about myself, I enjoy weightlifting, playing piano and guitar and
playing board games. Most importantly, Im thrilled to get started teaching Pre-k 3 children this year!

The 2017-2018 school year is fast approaching and we are busy making plans for the opening of school. Our
classroom number is 2. I look forward to working and learning together throughout the upcoming school year.
This letter serves to inform you about the following:

Schedule for the beginning of school

Parent-Teacher conference
Information about student supplies, snack, and the Student Activity Fee
Welcome Picnic on Friday, September 8th

BEGINNING OF YEAR SCHEDULE

The school year begins on Monday, August 21st. The School-Within-School (SWS) Pre-Kindergarten 3 and 4
teams will implement a staggered schedule to meet with parents and phase in the new Pre-Kindergarten students
during the first week of school. We believe that introducing the new Pre-Kindergarten students in two smaller
groups and meeting with every family prior to the start of school will help to ensure a smooth transition for both
students and families.

Over August 21st, 22nd, and 23rd , we will conduct parent-teacher conferences. Pre-Kindergarten students will
not attend school over August 21-23, but you should bring them with you to your scheduled conference (see
below). Half of the Pre-Kindergarten students in each class will attend a full day of school on Thursday,
August 24th and the other half will attend school on Friday, August 25th. Your childs scheduled day is
indicated below. All Pre-kindergarten students will attend school beginning Monday, August 28th .

Your parent-teacher conference is scheduled for in

Room 2 with Mr. Wade. If you need to make changes, please email wadeingram18@gmail.com. It is very
important that you arrive on time for your conference. If you arrive late you may be asked to return at another
time or date to meet with your childs teacher. Please bring your child to the conference, as the classroom
teaching partner will do some activities with your child while you meet with the teacher. In addition, please fill
out all school forms (attached) and bring them with you to the conference along with your activity fee payment
and the supplies listed below.

Your childs first day of school will be on . Your child will return to school on Monday,
August 28th, which is the first day that the entire Pre-kindergarten class will attend.
