Unit: Estimation and Rounding No. Ss 2 students

Prior Knowledge (What knowledge are you building on?)

Asking students: giving me numbers formed 2 digits numbers and 3 digits numbers with identifying ones, tens and hundreds.
Then, asking students about which numbers round up and which numbers round down?

Explaining part: round numbers have power so other numbers can borrow from them. Round down numbers dont have
power so other numbers cannot borrow from them.

Lesson Activities: (What will students do in the lesson?)


Task 1:
Giving 3 students a one small card has a problem solving about rounding 2 digit numbers to the nearest 10.

Task 2:
Working on 3 digit numbers for rounding them to the nearest 10 and nearest 100.
Explain the activity:
By giving a group just one cup and on the both side of it there is a problem solving. The students should take a number and
write it down on board then find the answer then choose the right answer which is written on the sticks and put the sticks
inside the cups.

By letting students correct for themselves when they finish of the both two activities.

Reflection:

The time management was good and I abled deliver my lesson very well, firstly I asked them about which numbers round up and
which numbers round down on the carpet. Then, I did transition from carpet to tables by calling the name of group and transition was
good also. I started by giving students 2 digit number for teaching student round to 10 and I asked them to round to the nearest 10 by
writing 2 digit number on the board and I let student round it on the small board and raise their board up. Most students abled to
understand this concept. Then, I taught them how to round up and down to the nearest 10/ 100 with 3 digit numbers by following the
steps of solving problem that I wrote it on the side of the board. I assessed my students by walking around them when they were
working on task. Some students abled to reach the learning objectives but I have noticed that some students were confusing with
rounding 3 digit number for rounding to nearest 10/100 so I worked with them in the same week that I taught the students.
