In the Passage, they all argue the fact that 9 in 10 Native Americans feel
that the Washington Redskins should change their name. They interview
many Native Americans and they dont seem to have a problem so why
should we. The Washington Redskins pick the Native Americans to honor
them. If the Natives love the name or dont have a problem with it why did
the people that dont have anything to do will take the trademark form the
Redskins?

The battle has been going on for way too many years and recently just
picked up in 2013.Now in 2017 there is still controversy over such a touchy
subject. But why is it so touchy? The number one reason is because of how
it sounds. And people dont understand the true meaning or history behind
the name. Many years ago Native Americans put a red paste on their skins
to protect them form the sun and people called them the redskins, not
because their natural skin but by the paste and thats raises?

In this passage, Mierengoff argues that why are we are still mad that the
Redskins have not changed their name. Really is it our problem what the natives
want to do with the name redskin. They clearly voted and the results are 9 in 10
Native Americans dont have a problem. So why should we? Why are we worrying
and its not affecting us? This is the exact reason why Americans need to get a life.

I love this passage because it shows how America is full of hypocrites.

You can put all this effort into trying to change a teams racist name but cant
stand up and stop police killings on innocent black people. The Natives dont have
problems, but yet and still were in their business try to stand up for something 1
in 10 Native agree with.
