AM/FM/Shortwave
Travel Radio
We hope you enjoy your AM/FM/Shortwave
Travel Radio from RadioShack. This radio
receives AM/FM signals and shortwave
frequencies from around the world, and provides
keypad direct entry and 30 station presets.
Please read this users guide before using your
radio.

Install Batteries
When flashes, replace
the batteries. To retain
settings, turn o the radio
first and replace within 30
seconds.
Open the battery
compartment and insert 3
AA batteries (not supplied)
matching the polarity
symbols (+ and ).
Battery Notes:
Dispose of batteries promptly and properly.
Do not burn or bury them.
Use only fresh batteries of the required size
and type. Do not mix old and new batteries,
dierent types of batteries (alkaline or
rechargeable), or rechargeable batteries of
dierent capacities.
If you do not plan to use the radio for a long
time, remove the batteries. Batteries can
leak chemicals that can damage electronic
parts.

Use AC Power Supply (Optional)
First, connect an AC adapter (not supplied)
to the radios DC 6V jack, and then connect
the other end to a standard AC wall outlet. To
disconnect, remove the adapter from AC power
before you disconnect it from the radio.
You must use a power source that supplies DC
6V and delivers at least 300 mA. Its center tip
must be set to positive and its plug must fit the
radios DC 6V jack. Using an adapter
that does not meet these specifications could
damage the radio or the adapter.

Toggle between the two clock times. Hold
for 2 seconds to view time when radio is on.

Set the Clock
1. With the radio o, press MEM/TIME. The
clock time flashes.
2. Use HR + or MIN to set the time.
3. Press MEM/TIME, or wait for 5 seconds.
(Optional) To set a second time zone, press
DUAL TIME (TIME2 appears), and repeat steps
13.
Note: To view the time during radio playback,
press and hold DUAL TIME for 2 seconds. The
time displays for 4 seconds.

Listen to Your Radio


1. Select a band (FM/AM/SW) and adjust the
antenna:
FM: Fully extend.
SW: Position vertically.
AM: Adjust radio position for best
reception.
2. Press 1POWER, and then tune a station:
Manual Tuning: Press HR + or MIN .
Search: Press and hold HR + or MIN for
two seconds and then release.

Direct Tuning: Press ENTER, use the
number buttons to enter a frequency,
and then press ENTER again.
Preset Channels: Press the number for
the saved channel. (See "Store Preset
Channels" on page 9.)
Note: Your radio adds necessary decimals. For
example, to enter 3.20 MHz, press 0, 3, 2, 0.
If you enter an invalid frequency, the display
flashes Err.

Store Preset Channels


You can store up to 10 favorite channels for each
band.
1. Tune a frequency and press MEM/TIME.
MEMO flashes.
2. Press a number (0 9). CH and the number
appear.
3. Press MEM/TIME.

Find Shortwave Bands


Shortwave frequencies are divided into bands
or rangesdedicated to specific applications,
such as amateur and maritime radio. Push the
SW BAND button on the top of the radio to skip
to the beginning of each range.

Set the Sleep Timer
You can set your radio to turn o automatically
after a specific time period.
1. Press SLEEP. 10 and SLEEP appear.
2. Press SLEEP repeatedly to select from 10
to 90 minutes. SLEEP appears when the
sleep timer is active.
3. To cancel the sleep timer, press SLEEP.
SLEEP disappears.

Set the Alarm


1. Press ALARM. The alarm time and the
buzzer or radio icon flash.
2. Press ALARM again to select M (buzzer) or
+ (radio).
3. Press or hold HR + or MIN to set the alarm
time. When the display stops flashing, your
alarm is set.
To cancel the alarm, press ALARM
repeatedly until neither icon appears.
To reset the alarm when it sounds, press
any button (except for LIGHT).
To temporarily stop the alarm (for 9
minutes), press SNOOZE.

Use the Timer
1. Press TIMER.
2. When 00 appears, press MIN to set the
timer (1 to 99 minutes). After 5 seconds,
the timer begins and TIMER appears.
To view the remaining time, press TIMER
once.
To stop the beeping, press any button
(except for LIGHT).
To cancel, set the timer to 00.

Limited Warranty
RadioShack warrants this product against defects in
materials and workmanship under normal use by the
original purchaser for ninety (90) days after the date of
purchase from a RadioShack-owned store or an authorized
RadioShack franchisee or dealer. RADIOSHACK MAKES NO
OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES.
This warranty does not cover: (a) damage or failure
caused by or attributable to abuse, misuse, failure to
follow instructions, improper installation or maintenance,
alteration, accident, Acts of God (such as floods or
lightning), or excess voltage or current; (b) improper or
incorrectly performed repairs by persons who are not a
RadioShack Authorized Service Facility; (c) consumables
such as fuses or batteries; (d) ordinary wear and tear or
cosmetic damage; (e) transportation, shipping or insurance
costs; (f) costs of product removal, installation, set-up

service, adjustment or reinstallation; and (g) claims by
persons other than the original purchaser.
Should a problem occur that is covered by this warranty,
take the product and the RadioShack sales receipt as
proof of purchase date to any RadioShack store in the U.S.
RadioShack will, at its option, unless otherwise provided by
law (a) replace the product with the same or a comparable
product or (b) refund the purchase price. All replaced
products, and products on which a refund is made, become
the property of RadioShack.

AND CONDITIONS NOT STATED IN THIS LIMITED
