3) 97% of high schools and 82% of middle schools have vending
machines compared to only 17% of elementary schools (2)
4) New Jersey is the first state to adopt a comprehensive school nutrition

policy that bans candy, soda, and other junk food. (3)

5) Processed food such as fatty foods, fried foods etc. can harm your

diseases like Alzheimers disease or Parkinsons disease. (4)

SECTION 2: Purpose
To ban the availability of junk food on school campus.

SECTION 3: General Provisions
Scientific research has shown, junk food is unhealthy and harms the body.
Excessive intake of junk food can cause health problems like kidney
failure, obesity etc. Yet, 61% students have the availability to buy junk
food on campus. Medical research has shown 3~45% of the pediatric
cases have developed type 2 diabetes, which means the issue on junk
food has already affected pediatric healths. This bill is to ban the sales on
junk food on school campus.
New Jersey is the first state to ban the sales on candy, soda, and other junk
food at school. More state are following New Jersey to ban the sales on
junk food on campus. However, what is at stake is the healths of

children's, we need to make this a law in order to expedite this ban on junk

food on campus.

Schools are where students spend a lot of time at. Schools shouldnt be able
to sell kids junk food if its doesnt have any good effects on kids rather
than harming their bodies. Kids eat what is offered to them, so if the option
is healthy food, they will eat it.

SECTION 4: Definitions
1. Obese: a stage at which a person has too much body fat to a point it
affects them negatively.
2. Diabetes: high blood sugar over a long period of time.
