Surface Mounting: Special Mounting:
For standard tree ighting from grade level, the AFL is unmatched ln By nature, a f oodlight is the classic example of flexibility rn outdoor

Functional Beam Patterns.

The AFL was designed around
three beam patterns that best fit
the geometry of most architec-
tUre and 'tS Surroundir^g envirg.-
r"enl. As 5ing s f ixtures or in
combination, these beam
choices will provide complete
versatility for exterlor or nterior
lrghting See pages 4 through 6
for application guides.

Vandal Resistant
Construction.
Precision dle castings with extra
heavy wall thickness give the
AFL a rugged, outdoor charac-
le. r.leat diss pating ribs give
the body added strength, while
substantially reducing internal
temperatures promoting
extended life of the electrical
components. Door frame and
swivel screws are recessed
allen head type.

Easy lnstallation and

Maintenance.
The AFL is shipped completely
assembled and prewrred with
leads extending out of the
swivel. Lamp installation or
replacement is accomplrshed
by removing two captive allen
head screws. The door frame
hinges open and holds by a
slop a'r. ,f ballast access is
required, the ref ector assembly
snaps out in one piece.

lnnovative Swivel.
The aesthetic reflnement of the
AFL fixture required equal
refrnement of the swtvel whtle

istics. The ingenrus AFL swivel is
a beautlful complement to the

ocking teeth. Adjustments are
made by loosening the
recessed ailen head screws at
both ends of the swivel. 15'
increments are marked on the
swivel while locking is possible

Design Coordinated J-Box.

Because there are no aesthetic-
ally designed J-boxes avaiiable
in the marketplace, Kim felt the
AFL design would be severely
compromised by mounting on
common outdoor J-boxes. Con-
sequently, the first Architectural
J-Box has been designed for
use wrth the AFL as a logical
extension of the design. The Kim
Arch:tectural J-Box is precisiot'
die cast in a clean cyllndrical
shape to match the swivel
flange, lt is fully gasketed and
U.L, listed for wet locations. The
AFL swivel firmly seats on the
J-Box and locks by an internal
set screw. The Archrtectural
J-Box provides superior
strength as a mounting device
for the AFL.
For above grade
installation only.
See page 9.

Barn Door Option.

Never before has a Barn Door
system been offered for an out-
door f loodllght, Yet, Barn Doors
are the most logical and flexible
way to control glare without
destroy ng efficiency and uni-
form ty of illuminatlon The AFL
Barn Door optton is tru y
designed for outdoor use wtth
hlnged doors that lock in place,
and are ndividually removable.
Each door is extruded wlth anti-
reflection baffles, and mounts to
a cast aluminum frame. The
Barn Door option mounts to anY
standard AFL fixture, and may
be added later if the need
arises lt is particu arly useful for
wall mounted AFLs used for
down ighting.
