Everyday in music class we will work together to create music. Using games, songs,
dances, and other activities students will be learning by having fun and actively
engaging and communicating with each other through the art of music. Everyday, there
will be various activities that connect music to other aspects of academics such as art,
physical education, social studies, history, math, literacy, and language. Students will
come to music class to sing and play instruments. They will be reading and writing
music, learning notes and rhythm, and every day will be building on what they already
know or have learned the previous day.

ability to demonstrate an understanding of 3 Student meets expectations
pitch and rhythm with singing and playing 2 Student demonstrates partial understanding
instruments, responding to different types of 1 Student demonstrates little to no understanding
music, and reading and writing music.
