The aviation sector in Indonesia has a bright future with great potential. With an
estimated population of 255 million people, Indonesia is the worlds fourth most populous nation
after China, India and the USA, and it is also the largest market in Southeast Asia as its
population makes up 40% of the 625 million combined population of the ten ASEAN countries.
Being an archipelago comprising over 17,000 islands and with poor land-based transport
infrastructure and vast maritime area, Indonesia naturally needs air travel for the mobility of its
people and goods, and aviation is vital to Indonesia and its economy. Additionally, the World
Bank forecasts that Indonesia's economy will grow by 5.3% in 2017, which is higher than the
average growth of the global economy of 2.8%.
Departure room will be the beginning of the holiday experience with the entertainment
room that can be soothing. From a survey conducted by Skyscanner, it was found that 43% of
passengers were happy to see an open park or beach as part of their experience. The report also
predicts, this convenience Center will be equipped wall and interactive floor that provides its
own experience.
As for airplane, Indonesia has more than 17,000 islands that means it needs a flight that
be able to take off on a coast for a better distributions on various area even in remote area.
Therefore, Indonesia needs an efficient electric aircraft. Eviation unveiled its all-electric light
aircraft, the aircraft is using distributed propulsion with one main pusher propeller at the tail and
two pusher propellers at the wingtips. A total of 6,000 pounds of lithium-ion batteries provide
power for the plane, designed to carry up to nine passengers for a range of 600 miles.
The new aircraft from Eviation will help to catalyze demand for new battery and rapid
recharging technologies that are crucial to enable electric flight. Electric planes, with no need for
oil changes, engine rebuilds, or expensive jet fuel, could cut operating costs and make the dream
of private air travel a little more affordable someday. Also, there is an opportunity to run a plan
to start using electric aircraft as air taxis in the future.
There is also a possibility that there will be pilotless airplane in the future. Passenger
planes could be flown without a pilot in the next decade, according to a new study. The research
was conducted by investment bank UBS, which found that new technology is being developed
that would make remotely flying an aircraft feasible in the near future. Pilotless planes could
save airlines 27 billion and slash fares for passengers, who could see prices drop by over 10 per
cent. The report said that the average percentage of total cost and average benefit that could be
passed onto passengers in price reduction for the US airlines is 11 per cent. Savings on European
flights would be less at an average of 4 per cent. The biggest savings will come from reducing
the cost of employing pilots. UBS estimated that pilots cost the industry 24 billion a year. The
study predicts flights will be safer as the potential for pilot error will be removed.
Indonesias aviation sector still offers huge investment opportunities for domestic and
foreign investors. There are lots of potential routes that are not yet fully facilitated especially to
regions outside Java such as in Kalimantan and Papua. However, the countraints still remain
including regulatory issues and poor airline management as well as the failure of the countrys
infrastructure and human resources to keep pace with the growing number of passengers and
flights. If we can develop the potential have, surely we will become a much powerful nation.
