The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is a renowned group of individuals that not only exceed the expectation of musical ability, but also focus a great amount of attention on the community that surrounds it. Even after considering the talent the ISO exhibits, the work done with the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra also serves as a positive reflection of the program. The achievements that have been accomplished would not be possible without the support of the ISO, even though the ISOs audience may not be aware of how truly beneficial and constructive the MYO can be. This creates the idea of producing something for the community that showcases the collaborative efforts that exist between the ISO and the MYO. The MYO is a diverse community. Whether a child is in kindergarten or about to graduate high school, the program is inclusive and focused on the future of the student. The program is divided into multiple orchestras centered around age and ability. Orchestra A consists of a skilled group of high school students who are experienced musicians working to improve their craft. It would be an amazing opportunity for one of these students to open up for the ISO at an event located at the Hilbert Circle Theatre. With many of these students idolizing the musicians in the ISO, this experience will be a dream come true. This performance will take place at the beginning of a Lilly Classical Series event to capture the attention of the audience and give them a brief look into a program that is so important to the ISO. Not only will the audience be able to enjoy a performance they would not have seen otherwise, but they will be able to visualize the growth that occurs by being a part of this program. This will showcase the student and give them an experience they never saw as possible, while also promoting the ISO and the programs within it. The ISO community is built on diversity, education and passion, which will be impossible to ignore by those present at this event. It is incredibly important to show the initiatives of the ISO learning community and the difference it can make in a persons life. Something as simple as rewarding a hardworking student with five minutes in the spotlight can truly make a difference in their lives, while also highlighting an incredible program. Please do not hesitate to ask questions or gather more information. Thank you for everything you do for the MYO.
Sincerely, The Metropolitan Youth Orchestra
