Proposal Evaluation
World hunger is one of the mayor problems in the world especially for generations to come.
There are several children and adults that suffer from this issues the United States included. There are
several communities that are affected by this issues; the mayor problem starts with lack of resources or
places to go. To take care of this issues there are several organizations that try to make a difference in
this manner, one of them is the feed the children organization; it provides resources and food to
children in communities around the United States and the rest of the world. This makes a difference for
children around the world. Then there are the ones that make a difference more locally like for example:
The Salt Lake Community College food bank; where they provide food for students in the community
with low income. These are two communities that do well internationally and locally so how much good
World hunger is a well know issues that has been addressed mainly in third world countries, but
there is a lot of people that do not realize that this is an issues that happens everywhere. Not only in
countries with low resources but also countries like example the United States.

Both organizations have done a lot of research on these issues; the main one been world hunger
while the Salt Lake Community College has done more of a local research. The feed the children
organization has gone in to a more broad point of view. The main purpose of the Salt Lake Community

College is to feed young adults that are attending the college. So they made a research survey to get a
number on how many students would use the food pantry. Before they started the program they
developed that more than sixty percent of the students would use the program and since then they
On the other hand the Feed the Children Organization has gone in to more research, where they
bring in to attention of what their cause is and to bring awareness of hunger in the United States and
the world. They let us know that there 23 million kids around the U.s only that suffer from malnutrition.
Or that there are 12.5 million children in the U.S that are overweight of have bad habits when it comes
to their nutrition.
The salt lake community college food pantry is much smaller but it is still a great cause and they
do make a difference in these issues or lack of resources. The only difference is that instead of children
they help students that are attending the college. It all started back in 2012 when the SWA decided to
make an assessment survey they made this survey within several of the campuses that the college has
and they determine that more than 60 percent of the students that were currently attending would use
the service.

This as much as it can be an improvement to the program at the college; it can also bring some
setbacks. As much as there can be an increase in funds there can also be a lack of resources, a constant
imbalance between the two programs and to have to decide where to use the food for. Both programs are
in need of food donations so how do you make a choice on who gets the what? Besides as much as there
can be more volunteers there can also be less, and the program could not work completely due to not
enough people volunteering. These factors can make a difference whether this change can be beneficial
for the college and the community. When it comes to a nonprofit organization there are several factors
that can affect it; that cannot be beneficial to the purpose that is being perform.
Like for example lack of resources since both the feed the children and the salt lake community
college food bank rely on food donations. This can affect the organization in balancing out the food that is
been given for each program. Another factor that could be affecting this proposal would be the fact that
most of the time there are very few volunteers that will come forward and help the organization;
especially since in this proposal consist on two of them. It would be hard to divide the responsibilities for
each volunteer and since there might be a few people volunteering and most of the volunteers are students
Community college food bank have values in integrity and been resourceful this organizations are
determine to make an impact into the world and the community. To make a name for themselves and
make people aware of what they are trying to do for several poor communities. You can tell that this
organizations if introduced to a new program it would welcome it with open arms. With full support and
since they have had a lot of experience they also provide several ways for someone to help in the
community; like for example: volunteering in certain neighborhoods around the world not only in the U.S
or in local neighborhoods, so this also is a factor that can attract volunteers since some people enjoy the
fact of helping in their local neighborhood or to travel and see the world doing a good deeds.
They can serve as ambassadors to help get the word out about this program, along with the salt
lake community college food bank so there are several ways that we can convince the people to join and
help our and to get the resources that are brought upfront by the feed the children foundation. There is
also gift catalogs that can be used so that way the food can be divided and it would not be affected by the
demand of both organizations also the lack of help does not seem to be a problem to the food bank since
they also offer social hours and internships for students that want to participate in the program this is a
great way for students with sociology majors to get some experience and also a great way to have
something that they can place in their resume. That is why no matter all the factors that might affect this
proposal you can tell that there is a way around each problem that they may face there are several ways to

attract students that want to get ahead in their majors or just because they want to make a difference or
just by the fact that they want a new experience in their lives this type of encouragements can be the
answer to face all this issues that we might be affected by the program.
