Opinion:
This article is already 3 years old but to be honest, I dont really think that
anything has changed yet with how health workers are payed. The president may
have already changed, but until now, health care workers and providers are still
not a priority. Considering that Magna Carta is actually a Republic Act, its still
very much ignored especially for health workers. This has always been the main
reason why students that graduate nursing here in the Philippines either go to
another country or work in a completely different field.

The sad part about this, is that its not just the health workers that are
compromised but also the quality of service that are offered to the patients. This
article was actually about a nurse supervisor working at Dr. Jose Fabella
Memorial Hospital, where hospital nurses are on duty for 16 hours a day due to
lack of staff. If that were case in almost every government hospitals, I really dont
think anyone, not even I, would want to work here, no matter how much we enjoy
and love what we do. I really believe that health workers, especially nurses,
should be more ackowledged for the amount and load of work they are doing.

To me, this issue is not just about violating the Magna Carta, I believe its
about violating the rights of the health professionals on the amoung of salary that
they deserve. Health care providers forget about taking care of their own health
just to take care of the health of their patents. They deserve more appreciation
and importance than this.
b) Issue that has upheld the Magna Carta for Public Health Workers

Opinion:
This article is like a shout out to, then president-elect, Duterte about how
health should be a priority when he beomes president. And personally, as a
future health professional, I very much agree with this. Generally, if health
becomes a priority to the government, they will definitely recongize the
importance of every health worker.

This article is the only positive post Ive seen regarding Magna Carta for
Public Health Workers, and its not even something that really hepenned yet.
Now, President Duterte is already the president, but has anything changed? Or
has the Magna Carta already been upheld? I dont think so. My opinion on this
will still end up with violation of the Magna Carta because that is the issue that
has allways been and is still present.
