LHCb Computing: The LHCb Event Filter Farm consists of more than 1500 server nodes with a total amount of
roughly 65 TB operating memory. The memory is crucial for the success of the LHCb experiment, since the
proton-proton collisions are temporarily stored on these memory modules. Unfortunately, the aging nodes of the
server farm occasionally suffer losses of their memory modules which leads to decrease in performance. I developed
a tool to monitor a set of test machines. The software stores the data of the memory sticks, which is extracted
using dmidecode and parsed via Python in form of an array of dictionaries, in advance in a database which will be
used for future reference. Then it checks the memory sticks at a future time instant to find any failures. In the case
of any such losses the software looks up in the database to find out which memory sticks have lost and displays all
information of those sticks in a log file. The software is scalable and tested for a couple of test machines.
Technologies Used: Python, MySQL, SSH.

Data backup Network Formation with Heterogenous Agents: A social storage game is a network of players
where each wants to backup his/her data so that the situations of data loss due to disk failure, malware, etc. But
maintaining a backup entails a cost. A player would want to maximize his data backup and minimize the costs.
This translates into an optimization problem. Addition and deletion of links are bilateral i.e. both the ends should
agree. But this model assumes player dont care about each others cost. To bring this factor into consideration the
social range matrix is introduced where each element fij of that matrix represent the relationship between player i
andj . After formulating the model and deriving the conditions when a link is added or deleted, an algorithm is
proposed which checks for a bilaterally stable network under the given network parameters and social range matrix.
Under some conditions on the network parameters and special social range matrices, bilaterally stable networks are
unique. Mathematical proofs are provided for the same. .

Texture detection using One Class Extreme Learning Machines: Trained different Brodatz image textures
on positive only examples and detection of these textures in arbitrary images. There is significant research done on
binary and multi class classification but one class classification is a relatively new area. The training,
cross-validation and testing is done on MATLAB. Compared different ELM architectures based upon the errors of
classification . Testing is done on VHDL where the required quantities from the software simulation are hard coded
into the VHDL code and units like multiplexers, adders are used for operations like decisions, addition, etc.The
results and performance of MATLAB and VHDL are compared.
Projects
Cyber Twin: Cyber Twin is an automation of the industrial machines. The operators of the machines do the data
entry part like start and end times of specific machine parts, lunch break, etc. This data is entered into a database.
Managers can monitor these details on a daily, monthly and annual basis in the form of graphs, charts, etc .
Optimization in sparse Extreme Learning Machines: Studied about the types of ELM and solve the optimization
problem using methods like simplex for linear programming, pseudo inverse and quadratic programming.
Parallel solution of Linear Equations: To implement Gaussian Elimination and gauss Jacobi method parallel
manner using OpenMP. Testing on large input sizes to compare the performance of the parallel algorithms vs. the serial
ones by observing the execution time and throughput.
Scalable Spectral Clustering: Implemented Spectral Clustering using Spark for Big data.
Combinatorial Game Theory: Studied various combinatorial games like nim, hackenbush, grundy, etc.
