This exercise is designed to

be played with a metronome.

Tick Tock
This exercise is designed to work the 2 mallet chops of the player. It is triplet based and
works the player's ability to move their hands independently with one hand progressing
down the instrument and the other up.

The exercise is to be played with alternating stickings and with the right hand leading.
Play with a metronome and be sure to maintain a good quality of sound. Do not allow the
sound to suffer just to play faster. Unless the player is speciCically working on accents, the
strong beats must sound the same as the inner beats. Play with different dynamics to keep
the exercise challenging and fun.

The player should use peripheral vision to see the outer most bars. The head should be
centered (in this case, right above the F bar) and not moving from side to side to see the bars.
