Steam generation and consumption

Andrussow fertilizer
The total steam consumption is 65722.49 kg/hr
The total steam generated from waste heat boiler is 79857.04 kg/hr
The steam remaining for export or selling is 14134 kg/hr

The steam remaining for export or selling is 15906.67 kg/hr

The steam is generated using saturated water at 212.4 C, 20 bar. After it goes through
the waste heat boiler, it becomes saturated steam at 212.4 C 19.8 bar.

The steam used for heaters and reboilers is supplied as saturated steam at 212.4 C 20
bar. After it goes through heat exchanging, it becomes saturated water at 212.4 C 20
bar.

Cooling water usage

The total demand for utility cooling water is 3083.23 kg/h

The total demand for utility cooling water is 337659.56 kg/h

The total demand for utility cooling water is 681855.89 kg/h

Generally, if it suits the temperature across the cooler, the condition for cooling water is
15 C, 20 bar at inlet, 90 C, 20 bar at outlet.

If the process stream out let does not exceed 90 C, the cooling water outlet is set
accordingly.
Refrigeration system

The total refrigeration duty is 1.76E+08 kJ/h

Andrussow recycle
The total refrigeration duty is 2.64E+06 kJ/h

BMA recycle
The total refrigeration duty is 1.92E+07 kJ/h

The refrigeration system uses saturated liquid ammonia at -28 C, 1.32bar as the
cooling agent, whose latent heat is 1354.9kJ/kg.

The refrigeration system is applied where cooling water is not suitable due to low
process stream outlet temperature, e.g. before HCN product stream from the
fractionator column goes into storage, it is cooling by refrigeration to 5 C.

Pressure drop assumption

The pressure drop across a heat exchanger is assumed to be 0.2 bar universally.

The pressure drop across a scrubber/stripper is assumed to be none.

The pressure drop across a distillation/fractionator column is assumed to be none.
