India - A Country Born Through Unity.

"It is the prime responsibility of every citizen to feel that his country is free and to defend it freedom is
his duty. Every Indian should now forget that he is a Rajput, a Sikh or a Jat. He must remember that he is an
Indian and he has every right in his country but with certain duties."

-Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

I'm pretty sure no greater words than this could have been said to perfectly define a nation that was to be
born out of the unity of a million of people who all belonged to different castes, creeds, religions, regions,
communities, languages and dialects. A nation of immeasurable diversity right from North to South and from
East to West, there can be found nowhere but in the only country, our country - India.

The Rebellion began in the year 1857, where people grew tired of the oppression by the then British
rule, which had made a once flourishing trading nation that even attracted the Voyager Christopher Columbus,
turned it into a famined, decrepit state where it had reached upto a point of starvation, all because they couldn't
eat what they had grown. Such inhumane atrocity could only be labelled as Second to the Holocaust. For 90
years, they ruled, looted a divided nation as they please. Then the people slowly rose against them, they chose
to join hands and unite as one, to stand up against the British Rule. The people united. It was an impossible feat
which had never been seen before, people who spoke different languages, religions, regions, castes, creeds, all
came together and united as one. Protests, clashes and mutinies and many other struggles happened alongside
the struggle against the British rule. Then finally, in 1947, India became free. India was born.

What stood out in the history of India and as to how Unity can prevail in a country with so much
diversity, with hundreds of languages and thousands of dialects, and many different religions, all came together
and be united as one is because they all had a goal, one goal in their hearts and mind - Freedom. It was a single
cause that struck the heart of each and every living Indian to unite, to fight, to put all differences apart and unite
as one nation. Their hearts cried for it as one, right from Kashmir to Kerala and from Arunachal Pradesh to
Gujarat. Leaders such as Nehru, Gandhi, Patel, Tilak, Bose, etc, united the nation and led it to freedom. Had
there been no unity amongst the people, then, till date we would've been still ruled by the British, as they had
ruled for 90 years before Independence.

That is why, a nation such as ours, needs to be more united as one, not because of its too diversified
people, but despite it, we will still stand united. With one goal and one heart as a nation we will rise.
