1 CONDUCT OF THE TOURNAMENT
The Tournament will be conducted according to the Rules of Tennis and Code of

Conduct as approved by the International Tennis Federation and Rules and
Regulations of the Hong Kong Tennis Association Ltd. 2

2 ELIGIBILITY
The competitions are open to HKTA members and also to non-members.
Participants must be holders of H.K.I.D. Cards or valid HK passports for verification if
required. Participants should present personal identity documents with photos to our
officials for verification of identities.

Events 1, 2 - Players aged 8 & under must be born on or after 1 January 2007
Events 3, 4 - Players aged 9 & under must be born on or after 1 January 2006 3, 4 - 9 2006 1 1
Events 5, 6 - Players aged 10 & under must be born on or after 1 January 2005
Players may not enter any other tournaments, which may clash during 5, 6 - 10 2005 1 1
tournaments period.
3 ENTRIES

Please complete the application form and return it along with the entry fee to the
HKTA Office on or before the deadline of each Competition. Cash will not be 3
accepted by post. No refunds will be made after the deadline of each competition.
Cheques will be returned to all unsuccessful applicants afterwards. Entries must be
received no later than 6pm on the entry deadline. Entries will not be processed
unless the entry fee is submitted to HKTA before the entry deadline.
4 TIME OF PLAY
Comp 1,2,4&5: Saturdays commencing at 2pm, Sundays and public holidays 4
commencing at 9am. Comp 3: Everyday commencing at 9am ,,: :

5 FORMAT OF PLAY

6 POWER OF THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE
The Tournament Committee reserves the right in its discretion to alter the conditions
and programme of Tournament as it deems fit and proper including but not limited to: 6
6.1 cancel any of the events if the total entry is less than 8,
6.2 accept or reject any application.
6.3 run the Tournament strictly according to schedule and no postponement will be 6.1 ;

7 REFEREE
The decision of the Official Referee appointed by the Committee is final in all matters
pertaining to the tournament.

8 OFFICIAL BALL
ITF APPROVED balls will be used exclusively for the Tournament.

9 COURTS ITF
All events will be played on Leisure and Cultural Services Department tennis courts
except when specified. No practice courts will be available for competitors. 9
10 PRIZE (
Winners & Runners-up of each event will receive a medal; and the Winner & )
Runner-up of main draw will also receive a certificate.

11 PLAYING SCHEDULE
Please check the tournament website (www.tennishk.org) 3 days prior to the
commencement of the event. All information pertaining to the competition,

including schedules and results, will be posted on the website. The first round
match schedules will be emailed to all players individually. It is the players 11
responsibility to check their play schedule. If you do not have Internet access, (www.tennishk.org)
please call 2504 8266.After their first match, they must ensure they know their ()
next scheduled match by asking the Referee before they leave the tournament

12 RESPONSIBILITY

The HKTA, Subventing Organisation and Sponsors of this tournament will not be
responsible for any losses, damages, or personal injuries arising from the 12
competition.

13 PUNCTUALITY
a) Matches shall follow each other immediately in accordance with the 13 :
announced order of play.
b) Matches shall be called and put in play on first available court basis. a)
c) Matches shall be called in accordance with the order of play using all b)
available and reasonable means. Players shall be ready to play when their
matches are called. Any player not ready within fifteen (15) minutes after c)
his/her match is called shall be defaulted unless the Referee in his sole 15
discretion, after consideration of all relevant circumstances, elects not to
declare a default.

14 DRESS CODE
Every player shall dress and present himself/herself for play in a professional 14
manner. Clean and customarily acceptable tennis attire shall be worn.
Unacceptable attire such as sweatshirts, gym shorts, dress shirts or other ()
inappropriate attire shall not be worn during a match (including warm-up). ()
15 INCLEMENT WEATHER
When a black rainstorm warning or typhoon signal number 8 or above is hoisted two 15
hours before the 1st matches start, all matches will be cancelled without advance
notice. When there is, or has been, inclement weather, players should expect a
delay to their match starting time. They should contact the Tournament Hotline to
find out the approximate length of the delay. However, it is always the players
responsibilities to check with the referee/ tournament official for the rescheduled
time of the match and the players have to be present when their matches are called,
otherwise a walkover will be awarded to the opponent after 15 minutes. Except the
/
above situations, players should report at the venue on time. 15

16 POSTPONEMENT OF MATCHES
If the Competition cannot be completed as scheduled for any reason, players in the
finals shall be named as Joint Winners. If the event has not reached the finals, the 16
referee shall declare the event abandoned.
17 WITHDRAWAL/WALKOVER
All withdrawals should be reported to the HKTA 24 hours prior to the match with
written notice (fax or email). If there is supporting documentation (e.g. Doctors
Certificate, School Letter), it must be submitted to the HKTA within 3 days of the 17 /
match. 24


Please note that the HKTA is committed to preserve a doping-free environment
for fair play in tennis in Hong Kong. HKTA will fully comply with the SF&OCs
and HKADCs Anti-Doping Policy which are in full compliance with the World If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and Chinese versions,
Anti-Doping Code and the relevant international regulations. For further the English version shall prevail. ()
