hello, have a beautiful day my name is yaneth, I am currently studying the second semester in the professional career of

Chemical Engineering, at the National University of the Altiplano.

In this opportunity I will explain about the danger pictograms of chemical substances.

What is a danger pictogram?

A danger pictogram is an image attached to a label that includes a warning symbol and specific colors in order to convey
information about the damage that a certain substance or mixture can cause to health or the environment, and are:

--------- Corrosive --------

SYMBOL: C

CLASSIFICATION: can be corrosive to metals, Causes severe burns to the skin and serious eye damage

EXAMPLES: hydrochloric acid

------- Irritants: -----------

SYMBOL: Xi

CLASSIFICATION: non-corrosive substances and preparations that, due to the skin that can cause an inflammatory
reaction .:

EXAMPLES: calcium chloride, sodium carbonate.

----------Toxic---------

SYMBOL: T

CLASSIFICATION: substances and preparations that, by inhalation, ingestion or skin penetration, can involve serious,
acute or chronic risks to health or even death.

EXAMPLES: barium chloride, carbon monoxide, methanol

----------- Very Toxic--

SYMBOL: T +

CLASSIFICATION: substance and preparations that, by inhalation, ingestion or absorption through the skin, cause serious
health problems and even death.

EXAMPLES: cyanide, arsenic trioxide, nicotine, mercury, lead, cadmium.

------------Flammable----------

SYMBOL: F

CLADIFICATION: prepared substances that in contact with water or humid air, develops flammable gases in dangerous
quantities.

EXAMPLES: benzene, ethanol, acetone.

---------- Extremely Flammable ---------

SYMBOL: F +

CLASSIFICATION: gases and gas mixtures, which at normal pressure and at normal temperature are flammable in the air

EXAMPLES: hydrogen, ethyne, ethyl ether

---------------- Explosives ----

SYMBOL: E

CLASSIFICATION: substance and preparation that can explode under the effect of a flame or that are more sensitive to
shocks or friction than di nitrogen.

EXAMPLES: nitroglycerin.

--------- Oxidizing ----------

SYMBOL: O

CLASSIFICATION: substances that have the ability to ignite other substances, facilitating combustion and preventing the
fight against fire.

EXAMPLES: Oxygen, potassium nitrate, hydrogen peroxide

------- Harmful --------

SYMBOL: Xn

CLASSIFICATION: substances and preparations that, by inhalation, ingestion or skin penetration, may involve health risks
temporarily or allergic.

EXAMPLES: ethanal, dichloromethane, potassium chloride, bleach

------- Dangerous for the environment -------

SYMBOL: N

CLASSIFICATION the contact of this substance with the environment can cause damage to the ecosystem in the short or
long term .:

EXAMPLES: benzene, potassium cyanide, lindane.
