Sciences Research Paper Title Abstract
Wave channels enhances performance of
microchannel heat sink through chaotic advection. Subsequent boundary layer development disruption and macroscopic Flow and Heat Transfer in mixing causes formation of Dean's voritces Branched Wavy Microchannels which in turn enhances heat transfer in wavy microchannel. Among various aspect ratios of channels including wavy and straight, value of 0.5 found best.
The microchannels considered with specific
dimensions and deionized water as the An experimental study of flow working fluid consist of ten identical wavy friction and heat transfer in wavy units. The experimental results, mainly the microchannels with rectangular overall Nu and friction factor, for wavy cross section. microchannels compared with straight baseline channels with same cross section and footprint length. Results and Discussion Conclusion
With increase in Re, second pair of vortices
appears which enhance mixing and thus, As Reynolds number is increased from 50 to overall heat transfer. Friction factor is constant 100, interaction between Dean's vortices for staright channel and linear for wavy enhance mixing of cold fluid from the channel with maximum value obtained for AR centre of the channel with the hot fluid of 2. Same trend is observed for Nu for straight near the wall, creating a more even channels. For wavy channel, Nu found to temperature profile across the cross increase rapidly at some particular Re with section. Wavy channel with aspect ratio 0.5 corresponding AR. The channel iwth AR exhibits best heat transfer behaviour as Nu showed best heat transfer performance. With starts rising sharply earliest at a low flow novel secondary branches, secondary flow is rate of Re betwen 50 nd 67. SImilar trebd in induced to the main channel and enhanced Nu observed at Re range of 67-100 for AR macro miing is observed. Overall thermal 1.0 and roughly at a Re 150 for AR of 2.0. performance is best with branched wavy microchannels.
