ZGP SHUTDOWN OPTION ASSESSMENT

1. Purpose of the Assessment

To explain the non-requirement of ZGP shutdown on 12.07.2017 as there is no critical

activity which requires the plant shutdown.

2. Shutdown Schedule

Sl.no Start Date End Date Duration

1 12.07.2017 16.07.2017 04 days

3. Reason for Shutdown (Planned)

There was an collective decision to shut down the Zauliyah Gas Plant from 12.04.2017
for four days to execute the following activities.

1. To replace the bearings in Howden make Refrigeration Compressor K-8450.

2. To replace the bolts in AP/LP flare pilot lines.
3. To place two nos. of civil foundation at AP/LP flare stack down side.
4. To fix the name plates in the Glycol reboiler E-8440 and regenerator column C-8440.
5. To reinstall the insulations on the removed flanges and Refrigeration Compressor K-
8450.
6. To remove the commissioning strainers from EGC K-8460 and Refrigeration
compressor K-8450 suction.

4. Reason for Non-Shutdown (Proposed)

As it has been discussed and proposed in the Interface meeting (PDO Project, Operations,
PDO CSU site team and AHEC) on 03.07.2017 as the details given below, the shutdown
requirement level is minimized according to the understanding among the above parties.

1. As there is no vibration observed in the Refrigeration Compressor K-8450 for past

three months, the spare bearings will be handed over to operations and it will be
replaced by them in later stage if there is any issue with the compressor.
2. The punch point of bolts replacement in AP/LP flare pilot lines were closed as TRE
TA-2 confirmed by mail that both the installed and required bolts are equivalent in
quality.
3. Placing two nos. of civil foundation at AP/LP flare stack down side will be done
during other plants shutdown.
4. Fixing of name plates in the Glycol reboiler E-8440 and regenerator column C-8440
will be done during other plants shutdown.
5. Reinstallation of the insulations on the removed flanges and Refrigeration
Compressor K-8450 will be done once commercial issue is resolved with Al-Swiss.
6. Removal of commissioning strainers from EGC K-8460 and Refrigeration
compressor K-8450 suction to be discussed with Bhajah Operations that whether to
be removed or kept permanently to reduce the risk.

5. Conclusion

It is obvious and can be easily concluded from the above proposal that the ZGP shutdown
can be avoided as the shutdown requirement is very least to carry out the above activities
and comparing to the gas & condensate deferment cost.
