Storm Water Drainage

. From Design report
The storm water drain is being designed to carry 6.25 mm rain fall per hour. Also, suitable
provisions are contemplated in our scheme to ensure better recharging of underground
water table in the area. RCC Hume pipe drain with minimum 400 mm dia is proposed in
this area.

Project status
All most all rain water pipe are laid as per the design given by Mr. Soni.
Green areas as park are lower from the nearest road ranging 400 mm to 1000 mm.
Road levels are at 216.8 in Block A, B,C & D
As per the drawing provided outfall of B,C & D block is at 213.8 i.e. (-) 3000 from
internal roads.
invert level at out fall of Block A is 214.3 i.e. (-) 2500 from level of internal roads
Invert Level of proposed HUDA storm water drain was not known at the time of
meeting at site.
It is presumed that
Level of Park at marked as Green (10) is 215.8 & MH -24 IL 214.7
Level of Park at marked as Green (4) is 215.8 & MH -51 IL 215.22
Level of Park at marked as Green near primary school is 215.8 & MH -85 IL 213.8
Level of Park at marked as Green (14) is 215.8 & MH -113 IL 215.3
Level of Park at marked as Green (21) is 215.8 & & MH 145 IL 214.32

Concept of Proposed Mitigation for rain water harvesting (RWH)

As catchment is primarily is a part of residential layout, expected contamination in runoff
would be floating materials like traces of Mineral Oil, organic substrate, dry leaves etc,
some grit particles of up to 2 ~4 mm size, & silt. Thus, following components are required
for continuous self-cleaning de silting system with required capacity of injection well.

Bar Screens > Grit seller> Hydro cycle > tube settling system. > injection well

Parameter selected for design of RWH

1. Rainfall intensity 6.25 mm /hr. (as per the carrying capacity of storm drains).
2. Settling velocity of .05 M/hr.
3. Runoff coefficient of 0.75 as catchment area considered is having mixed
formation of paved & unpaved area.
4. No residential area is considered for calculation
5. For Block A catchment area at green 14 is total 26743.41 Sq M
6. For Block A catchment area at green 21 is total 43470.42 Sq M
7. For Block B, C & D catchment area at green 10 is total 33361.13 Sq M
8. For Block B, C & D catchment area at green 4 is total 30032.314 Sq M
9. For Block B, C & D catchment area at green at primary school is total 30618.32
Sq M
Based on above following systems are required

Location Catchment Unit Maximum Unit

3 systems should be able to handle of 150 Cu m/hr
1 System should be able to handle 125 Cu M/hr.
1 System of 200 Cu M/hr.

Needs revalidation as par catchment area.
